Vogue Paris August 2008 : Daria Werbowy by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

I have to agree with you Mulletproof.Peta members storm into runway shows ,create chaos and annoyance, ruin perfectly good pieces of clothing, and then complain how "No one takes them seriously".

The edit is just sort of redundant. It's good to have a message behind images, but the peta thing is just sort of played out.I would take a breathtakingly beautiful photograph over something trying too hard to be "controversial" anyday.

I checked this site every half an hour, but still no full-set scans?

what makes you think irony is still so intricate for 'everyone'?, I would say it's the most recurrent.. wh*re of our time, especially in fashion publications ran by 80s/90s-obsessed editors who can't get past controversy, shock, dirt, and whatever was debatable and outrageous growing up with your post-war parents as their life-saver theme for an otherwise uninspired month that can't include the new shape or new names because you already covered that last month. sorry, but the intention and provocation as you called it is crystal clear in the story and far from challenging not even to the most conservative or anti-fur principles, there's nothing to 'get' other than the fact that Vogue and its editors are not particularly known for being the pioneers of wit and sense of humour.. not even for a good comeback on an organization that's become so vulnerable and irresistible to mock at.. this is just as dumb and simple-minded as the idiots parading and sneaking into fashion shows instead of spreading knowledge or generating questions in places of trascendence.

Yeah, sure the provocation and the outrageous arent something what testifies high spirituality, but don`t You think, what fashion isnt about that at all, fashion isnt even about art (and even art isnt high spiritual). Fashion is about business and money much more esp. at the moment. and provocation makes good sales. that`s all. and about not getting irony- didnt You read readers letters? esp. in W magazine- if no- do it right now and you`ll know opinions of general public...i have to say, that`s not progressive views at all...

I don't mind reading critics about stuff I love, I think it's interesting

I agree that this may not be amazingly orignal concept-wise, but as I've said before, what I look for - and what I get - when I open Vogue Paris is beauty, modernity and sex... This issue isn't an exception

Plus I think I&V have the ability to make anyone look their best... I love the colours, the poses, the moods in their pictures... Yes it's sometimes repetitive, and that's why you can say "I'm sure this was shot by I&V" but as a huge I&V fan, this is what I love about them :P

If I were a celebrity, I'd definitely want to be shot by I&V

I couln't agree more! I&V can do no wrong I'm my book.

Can't wait to get this issue. Everything seen so far looks good.

^ Hahaha I knew you would agree when I wrote it ^_^ Team Inez&Vinoodh

God, how boooring... even styling wont rescue this:ermm:

i dunno, but who`s on the earth is still doin` the things like this? US Vogue?

I personally think this is gorgeous for a studio shoot! Thanks for posting!

I still don't get why everything is called Reality Show. I think if someone like Meisel would come up with an editorial with that name it would really look like a reailty show but this is just a normal issue of French Vogue, did Carine watch too much Big Brother?

I like Sasha's editorial much more than Daria's, nice makeup I think.

I love the styling in Sasha's ed. I don't think it's boring, it's studio shoot so it's all about clothes!

I don't like Sasha s hair in the McDean ed. But overall it looks good.

sasha's edit is so fine! its a serial studio shoot but it somehow has a depth, i love it!

I like Anna's editorial purely because I would wear almost every outfit featured, maybe that makes me dull but it will certainly serve as inspiration for future outfits.

love how studio shots emphasise the styling, and they're just so timeless and elegant ...sasha looks absolutely angelic in these:heart:
