The cover shot is fabulous! Simple, chic, and very Parisienne.

However, that art direction is an eyesore! The red and black scheme ruined it! RUINED. IT. It feels like an undone cover. A half baked one. Somehow it feels like the cover leaked while they're still deciding if they'll use black or red. Eyesore.

The editorials are stunning! I was excited as each photos were coming in. Too much studio, but they're I'd give it a pass.

Cara's feature is a waste.

The cover shot is such a classic concept it should've worked wonderfully, but it lacks something to me, it feels kinda flat.
Glen Luchford's editorial is sooo beautiful tho!!!

All editorials look like they`ve been made by the same person. This 80s vibe and girls of the same type looking pretty much like siblings in each story... Jewelry sets with Othilia Simon and Cameron Russell looks like taken from Vogue Russia styled by Katerina Zolototrubova - so ameteurish kind of Parisian chic. I am waiting when they finally fire Emmanuelle because magazine doesn`t have a vision anymore, it`s an epitome of creative crisis in fashion industry. Why don`t they try to hire someone independent with different vision to have all standpoint represented, someone like Tom Van Dorpe or Mel Ottenberg.

3 x Sims edits?? A bit overmuch, no?

This is actually a good issue based on what's been posted!! Must have it. Surprisingly no overt vintage references in sight, which is a plus for me. There's some shots I like in each edit except Cara's, but Charlotte Wales' one is without a doubt the best. A cover image extracted from this story would be perfect. And Lachlan Bailey's shoot with Cameron Russell did what Porter should've done. I also like the Luchford and Sims (with Luna?) edits. I'm past the stage where I expect 'new' ideas from VP. Let them revamp the same old shtick over and over again, at some stage they'll succeed.

My only gripe is the makeup they've used on Othilia Simon, who really should be considered for a cover, and the lack of creativity. There are interesting ways to showcase jewellery, this wasn't it. There are also a lot of repetitive shots (all down to Alt's shoddy editing). And my final takeaway is Cara's cover simply wasn't needed!

I like the cover. It's a good issue but i'm bored....

We (as french people) have become very nostalgic about the 80's over the past few years and seeing it everytime on Vogue is kinda exhausting. I don't mind designers doing that because i love it but it's shown with a limited range at Vogue Paris.

I really miss Anastasia Barbieri in this. It's too much of Emmanuelle and Geraldine (which means, too much of the same style) and as their loyal to their models, i feel like i've seen the same models styled in the same way over and over again.

Either you choose different models for the same concept, or you keep the models and change the concept. But same models and same concept is a no for me.

Cara is a random choice but she is the face of Chanel and is quite popular. Much more than Kendall actually (who had a cover before her).

I can assure you that you'll wait a bit longer than you expect for her to be fired. The magazine may not excite us as much as we like but it appeals to french readers.
It does have a vision...a vision you don't like but the vision is still there, loud and clear. Emmanuelle is not an amateur. She has been an editor for quite some time now...
But i think that something should change in her team.

VP was great because of the dynamic between Carine, Emmanuelle, MAS (and then Mc Kenna). Now, it's just all about Emmanuelle, Geraldine and sometimes Barbieri. It's not enough. They needs three distinctive voices.

I hope what Edward will do will inspire them a little bit as he is clearly coming into their territory.

VP is also doing well in terms of sales, so unless she resign we won't see anyone new sometime soon. The solid sales may also be part of the reason why she's standing firm with this direction.....

I don't like Cara (i think she's really overrated) but i have to admit that this cover is really really good.

Besides Cara and Mica Im eating this casting up with a spoon , Julia B., Birgit, Othilia and Luna. Too bad most of it looks the same.

Crazy that Cara got a cover before Raquel Zimmermann... And just when her fame is sort of fading? She's not as hot as she used to be.

This Cover would have been amazing with Raquel!!! But I don't like it with Cara, she dosen't deliver. Also the french-Girl style does not work on her.

she cannot rule the magazine because its just her wardrobe. And Weroniecka, Barbieri, Geraldine, Didry looks like copy of Alt, who`s remain the same all years she works for the magazine. There is no trend in the magazine represented, there is only her love for 80s vibe and overabundant styling. Those jewelry editorials looks amaterish, i havent said that Alt is, she is just not an editor-in-chief, she cannot handle that position, she cannot see things from an outside so she worked with ppl with the same vision or tries to limit them according to her boundaries. I guess it was the reason why Koller left, she has another vision and Alt doesn`t seem to like it (i don`t like Suzanne for VP she`s too Self Service for my taste, but her eds were different). Quite often VP looks like Vogue Spain or Vogue UK. Its hard time with identity now, when indie and commercial stuff is so mixed up and they hire new photographers such as Charlotte Wales for conde nast and Pop magazine. Magazine should sell well, and i doubt VP is doing that. Nobody is staying forever, Shulman example proves that.

Love it or not, Vogue Paris is going to stay like this at least 4 more years. The magazine seems to be locked in a parisian rock fantasy very 80esque that I can understand appeal to some parisians since I live there.

However shame that french Vogue is the only edition to only promote one city's aesthetic. I mean I would like to see an editorial paying tribute to the "vieux sud" or to the "tacky" culture of the north of the country. Idk something new. Plus the fact that Alt and her team keep hiring the 10-15 same girls does not help.

That is the reason I have stopped buying it.

However I guess the sales might be well.

That has always been my issue with VP since Carine took over.

Joan Juliet Buck, maybe because she is american, was more interested in french culture as a whole. And it was a nice touch to a very parisian magazine.

With VP since 2001, it's only about Paris and even when they shoot abroad, they shoot were the parisian crowd goes to Vacation: Saint Barths, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Monaco, Biarritz, Rio De Janeiro, Deauville, LA, NYC and Las Vegas. It's very limited.

This is why I appreciate VP more than any other Vogues out there: It never forgets its Parisian and very adult personality.

I suppose if some insists on a very homogenized, even generic representation of high fashion that’s inclusive of everyone and of the times we're living in, then I can understand why Emmanuelle’s presentation may be irrelevant to them. VP is the only Vogue that has a strong, even genuine personality.

Looking forward to taking in this issue in my own time as I’m attracted to the edits. Cara’s is the weakest, forgettable of the lot— but she’s always been forgettable and weak to me.

Cover repost ( down in first post)

I'm loving this issue... I don't mind their 80's obsession... I'm just glad they seem to be over their "indie" phase.

For me Cara's cover/edit is the weakest thing about the issue, I love the editorial content even though its not paticularly new.

And thrilled to see Birgit's OG edit with David Sims

I like this issue a lot more than what I've seen in recent months, but I don't feel like the magazine is at full strength at the moment. The content feels like it comes from a copycat magazine doing a watered-down version of Vogue Paris.
