Vogue Poland December 2020 : Anja Rubik by Herself

2 next covers are useless.
portrait looks like a typical vogue Czech/Poland/Portugal
3rd one in these 80's inspired YSL pumps is also useless despite Helmut Newton 'Big Nudes' amazon vibe. Anja doesn't look like one on this shot. she does on the first cover though.
1st one is immaculate and they don't need having other covers. There is something wrong with font color, white is not that good looking. I would replace it with other but overall this is one of the best cover from 2020.

What's wrong with Helmut Newton?
i respect his legacy but women's rights isn't exactly the first thing that comes to when i think of his work, especially the pictures anja is probably referencing with that one cover.

Impeccable cast for a powerful message.

I can't state how proud I'm of this woman. When she started being vocal about some political issues and founded the #sexedpl campaign in her hometown 4 years ago, I thought it's just a "phase" (like how every other celebrities did when they needed a persona after they flopped so people won't totally forget about them...) but god knows how bruised my face was....She actually puts her minds into the course just like she did with her modeling career and actually brings positive changes to Poland throughout the years. What makes me respect her more is that she actually lost some job opportunities due to her heavily involved in those issues but that never stops her. Bravo, Anja!

Agree, the first cover is strong enough, three covers seem redundant.

On contrary I find the 2nd cover to be the best. Her body looks amazing and I love the shoes she is wearing. I hope to see more YSL in the ed.

One could argue that Newton objectified women and that his depiction of women was even misogynistic. But I don’t see it that way at all.
It always was a very naive and too literal interpretation of his work. He liked a strong women. He used photos to hankering about mood which controlled in Berlin during his youth. According to him the best word which describe his work it is schwül. His autobiografi is exciting journey to his inspirations.

My favourite is the naked one, although why hide her nipples (even Polish Elle had a cover last year where an actress posed barechested)?! It's the women's freedom we are talking about after all.

Unlike the recent Vogue UK & Italia covers, I think Anja demonstrates how fashion could do justice to a social cause without being pretentious. Even the Helmut Newton reference is a good touch on the subject.

I think perhaps on it's face his work might appear that way but did a woman ever look weak or not fully in control of herself and her sexuality in his images? If we were talking about Araki that might be another conversation but I think most people associate Helmut Newton with powerful women.

This is incredible! It is such a simple and powerful message and I am delighted Anja and Vogue Poland decided to do this.

Yes! Totally agree. His woman were always in charge!

i can totally see what you're saying and i do enjoy his work but a picture of a woman being strong/powerful/etc does not automatically make it feminist to me. i guess what i'm trying to say is anja's newton homage was simply unnecessary when the first cover is so great and sends a clear message. still better than MGC's "we should all be feminists" shirts for sure!

Is this a digital cover? Also, would you mind posting the editorial with original layout? I'm curious to see.
