Ugh! I remember that editorial so vividly! Magnificent!!! Thank you for posting, t-rex.

W really was such a stunning magazine. And - I've said it before - but I also loved the graphic design of the title pages of all the editorials…they were always equally as creative and inventive as the photographic content. The shadow of the "S" is really gorgeous.

Thank you everyone for this goldmine of a thread!

These images are a great summation of my formative years in the 90s and early 2000s why I love the presentation of high fashion so much. These stories are the stuff of my high fashion dreams, aspirations, and education— striking that masterful balance of artistic and creative vision and commercial accessibility.

W under Patrick’s direction was forever bountiful, inspirational, so so so confident and full of attitude.

I need to take a day off to marinate in this thread!

Ugh, this thread is taking me so far back. I remember so many of these editorials from my years of buying and subscribing to W. It was the very first fashion mag I ever purchased for myself and it remained a mainstay as far as reading material goes. Looking over all of these stories I can see why. They struck such a balance between fantastical artistry and relatable/attainable fashion, and they played a tremendous role in shaping my eye.
