What Are Your Thoughts On Plastic Surgery?

omg the_ida, you look absolutely gorgeous! I think I've said this before, but surgery or not you are beautiful! And you have PERFECT skin! must share tips!!

everyone I've seen with permanent makeup is always kind of white trashy looking with crispy bleach blonde hair and leathery sun damaged skin. Not to say everyone is like that, but needless so say Im not a fan of permanent makeup.

The_Ida, your nose is perfect.

Ida, i don't know how i missed your pics but you look great. In the WAYWT pics, i definately notice a difference. or maybe it's psychological! but i do!

GG, That's great that you're getting yours permanently done. For the lipo on your lower half, did your surgeon give you a visual computer generated post-op image? I can't believe you can be up and about for school!

Do you mean juvederm ultra plus? I think juvederm ultra is the one normally used and ultra plus is the thicker one... The problem with using the thicker one is that sometimes it will form lumps. Thats why radiesse is usually the best choice for nasolabial folds but never used for lips. I had to go in a few times to get my lips the size I wanted as well, I guess it's better to be conservative than to end up looking like donatella versace

I actually didnt get a before and after for the lipo but I think he does them if you ask. I know he's very good and this is one of the simpler things he does so I trust his work and basically just asked him to remove as much as he can. Your supposed to stay home for at least a week but thats what they said when I got my nose done and I went back to class in 2 days. I think I may have accidently scheduled it during midterms  The surgery is on monday and I really have to be back in class on wendesday.

I haven't used anything but Bioderma Sensibio H20 cleanser (no rinsing needed) and Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. I want to avoid putting water on my face for a while and avoid any exfoliating, and it turned out fine... And of course lots and lots of sunscreen.

My nose is actually looking better, the swelling has gone down really fast. Of there's still a bit left, but I'm really really happy with it :D

And thank you all for your kind comments, it really makes a girl feel better at 7 in the morning...

omg The Ida, i din even know that they were ur pix i thought it was some model pix!!! u look goregous..i dont even know what u did!! but u do look very model like...

i just had vitamin shots! loving them! i am hooked they give this healthy flash effect look...my doctor said i should do them three times every 15 days...then every 4 months once....

b12 shots? I thought about getting those, especially since I'm a vegetarian Did you just ask for your dr for it?

reading this today made me incredibly sad...she is just 22 yrs old.. with all due respect, i don't understand how anyone can talk of plastic surgery and use the word "fun" as though it's some kind of stimulating activity.. i don't consider myself a conservative person but i read something like this and can't help but wonder what is happening in this world..:innocent:

Heidi Montag on plastic surgery..

On getting more plastic surgery: “The fun thing about surgery is that they always have new things and you can always try things. I’m not sure what’s on that list right now, but I’m sure as I get older, I’ll want to keep up with maintenance as most Hollywood does.”

i honestly wish i could get my nose done. makes me feel so insecure and i also have breathing problems.. but its so expensive and would take me prob 10 years to save that much money :(

oo.. yes, I mean ultra plus! The lump formation doesn't sound good at all  It's good to know that it takes a few go-s.
I can't believe you went back to class in 2 days~!! That's unbelievable! I'll be thinking of you on Monday haha! Good luck!^_^

I *think* in Australia that if you have breathing problems, the government's healthcare program subsidises some of the cost of the nose job.

In the meantime, those temporary nose jobs (with fillers) are becoming more popular but that wouldn't fix your breathing problems.

^ oh really? the docs ages ago wanted me to spray something in my nose that thins the lining, but causes nose bleeds.. but im going to look into that. hope its true

^If you have any breathing problems, then it's free in Denmark...luckily...or if I told my doctor that my nose caused me psychological problems, then it also would be free. I considered that for about 2 minutes, but I hate lying

It's the similar in the US if you have breathing problems and you have insurance. I believe the co-pay is usually around 1000-1500 for surgery and they pay the remaining $5000 or so.

Thanks Ida for sharing your experience! I am very interested in a nose job somewhere in the future. I have too much cartilage at the tip of my nose, it annoys me so much!!! I'm still so scared though

Same here in the UK the NHS can do it for you for free (provided the reason is medical/ or had a bad accident), i got offered one on the NHS but i was only 15 & way to scared to have it done.. however i plan on getting one after college B)

Are you on about cauterization ? That actually stops nose bleeds, because i had it done when i was 10 lol!

My friend had it done several times and it helped but didnt stop it completely. It basically just creates thicker scar tissue in your nose.

did anyone do the lip injections? increase in volume? i am thinking of doing it tomorrow and i want to know like would it be dramatic, subtle, how long would it last? what would i expect the first day and the day after? etc?

It helped a great deal when i was a kid though, it was fantastic being able to play out and not have to run and get a klenex all the time:lol:

I've had restylane, juvederm and am getting fat done soon. The result can be very subtle or very dramatic depending on what you want and how the dr does it. The first time I had it done I could barley see a difference or you can get megan fox lips. on average resylane lasts about 4 months in the lips, juvederm about 6 months but it depends greatly on the person. Some people absorb it in 2 months while for others it can last a year. Most people are a little swollen for 1-3 days, my top lip swells for 2 weeks but I dont think thats normal. You should be able to go out to dinner with freinds the same day. Dont take asprin the week of since it thins the blood and makes you bruise and swell more, and some benedryl or other allergy medecine right before or after helps stop some swelling.
