What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

Motorcycle boots

So i recently bought the Frye Veronica shortie boots in cognac:
http://zeta.zappos.com/product/7330262/color/309

I initially bought these because I saw a spread on Harpers with Liya Kebede (Don't remember which issue, SORRY!) in this beautiful long white cotton dress and these boots in black. I loved the grungy and feminine look wrapped into one. I then thought maybe these boots could also work with a floral print. Or something like Anna Sui's F/08 collection:

However, was wondering if anyone out there had any other ideas I can do with these boots! I'm thinking knee-high socks could work with these boots.
This isnt the greatest picture, but gives you the idea:

Any and all ideas are welcomed! :) Thanks for reading!

i bought these Abercrombie boots at a vintage store in Boulder, CO. I've been wearing them with my dark straight leg jeans casually tucked in to the boots and plaid button ups with vests. I try not to wear them out to much but i love them so much i'd wear them every day if i could. Im wondering if there's anything else besides my plaid and vest combo with these that would look good with because i dont like to wear just anything with them, i like to stick with more dressier peices to not look so casual.

^How about pairing it with some rolled up or cropped trousers?

xlevix-imo as a 'femme' those boots would class up anything!they're beautiful! life's too short--wear 'em with anything :flower:

-street...- I agree that brown would be your best bet. Depending on the atmosphere/appropriateness, I've worn lighter blue, black & purple with that shade...

-fauxx...- I have stockings like that and have taken to wearing them under a skirt or casual LBD with tall, flat boots. Depends on the rest of the ensemble but you could def. pull it off w/o looking witchy ^_^

im wearing this i. miyake skirt to a christmas party, but i dont know what to pair it with... what kinds of tops would look good with it, and what colours? what shoes and colour stockings, any ideas are welcome, i love this skirt and i want to be dressed to kill hahaha :)

^ that is one standout skirt!
It has to be the main focus so I'd go very basic on the rest with black and/or white pieces. I.e., black opaque or sheer stockings with a black pump (like the one u already have in the pic) or dressy bootie, white camisole/tank/or bodysuit with a black blazer (not too long, not too cropped).
Or a l/s, collared white shirt tucked in.
You said 'stockings' but if you didn't want to and it wasn't too cold, you could do a more dressy, or strappy sandal-type heel in a metallic color (<-- any of 'em) as a nice basic.
Have FUN :flower:

^^ The current trend for those kind of skirts seems to be opaque tights and ankle boots, simple cotton tank, and blazer with rolled up sleeves. You could also try a more classic approach with bare legs and strappy shoes, and a fitted blouse or shirt in a matte fabric. For an unexpected look, I would experiment with a slightly billowy top tucked in, and replace the belt with a more rugged black or brown one.

No picture, but I just bought a black wool cardigan that fits snugly and is cropped - it ends a fair distance above my bellybutton. Any suggestions for what kind of silhouette I should wear this with? Preferably winter outfits, and please keep in mind that I am rather short-waisted to begin with.

Your description made me think of this...probably nothing similar but I love the idea of the fitted cardigan over the bubble-skirted dress.

exactly what i thought

Ah, thanks Serenity*now, GasolineRainbow and daniellelat for your input and ideas! Its rather cold here, so yes stockings it is. I think im going to go for the sheer stockings and some pumps. Cropped, rolled up blazer is a great idea. Anyone know where to find a slim fitted blouse or shirt in a matte fabric?

Its going to be a dressed up party, so im going for the more classic look, but yea, i definitely can see how i can make it work to different occations with different accessories. Thanks, and please share if you have any more ideas :)

TORNI - I LOVE that skirt! IT IS AMAZING!! I agree with GasolineRainbow. Stick to Black or white or even gray... I think it would look cute with a button up blouse... a plain shirt... and some little platform boots... all very simple.
you are going to look fabulous

I got this LaRok dress for my 21st birthday party... but I am trying to figure out what shoes/accessories to wear with it - I was thinking all black or possibly some plumb/purple pumps...instead of black...and maybe some long gloves? I DON'T KNOW!! help me out! My party is in 2 weeks! ahhh!! :)

I like the classy, "classic" version above!
I do like your idea of gloves too!!
There's really a lot you could do with this dress...

I'm graduating from college on December 12th and this is the dress that I plan to wear. (I wanted it in off-white, but the pale yellow is more in my price range). Any tips on accessories, shoes, etc. I'd really appreciate your opinions a lot.

A cookie, I think I've seen that top in the lookbooks on Chloe's site. I don't remember what season it's from, but perhaps you could take a look there to see what outfits it's paired with. It has quite the Chloe aesthetic, so I'm sure that even if you don't find that particular piece, you'll get inspiration from similar clothes.

WhitleyGilbert, that dress is sooo pretty. You know the drill: embellished clothes look best paired with simple clothes and accessories. Because of the flower corsage, I would advise not wearing a cardigan or blazer over it, but a warm shirt underneath. I'm thinking one of those paper-thin cashmere-type sweaters. If you prefer to wear something over it, try a pashmina wrap or one of those dance-inspired wrap-around cardigans in a slightly loose fit, so that the front falls beneath the flower. And then wear tights and heels - I would avoid boots or ankle boots, because it's a classic, romantic dress. One last thing, yellow is one of the only colors I actually don't like with black (it reminds me of bees), so try pairing it with any other neutral. Or color if it makes you happy! Congratulations on getting your degree:)
