What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

As the good enviroment activist I am, I like, and love!, to wear same clothing item over and over again. And again. And again. BUT I wear it in different combinations everytime, and now I have these 2 dresses where I don't have any more combinations left! As what I can think of!

So now I need help: Do you guys have any ideas how to wear those two dresses? Come with every idea, 'cause I've used them in every single combination I can think off. I need some combinations I can use as an "everyday"-outfit, like not dressed-up.

These two dresses:

The green one quits right over my knees, and the white one is a mini-mini which just covers my butt.

I just bid on this dress for my prom and I'm wondering how I could wear it to the prom, and more casually after? Any ideas? I was thinking about wearing a pair of grey knit leggings under it to prom to make it more casual but I'm worried leggings are kind of played out, as they've finally made it to mall stores in rural ontario.

The picture is from ebay, but I'm pretty sure the seller copied it from Saks. :ninja:

Ivypixie: I would wear the white dress as a shirt, with a black long sleeve shirt underneath, sleeves pushed up to be 3/4, belt the shirt with some sort of cool distressed belt (jocasi maybe?) and slouchy cuffed denim shorts. :ninja:^_^

Time for a newbie! ^_^

So I have this dress, but I am wearing it knee length: (vogue.com)

I don't like those shoes at all...they seem 1991 to me.

What shoes do I wear? Hair? Makeup? Jewels& bag? I am a very romantic dresser.

I am thinking diamond stud earings, and a very sleek bag to balance it out? I am at a loss on the shoes!

Thanks!

^ oh my lord...that dress is gorgeous. i am so completely jealous.

anyways, what are you wearing it to? i'm guessing you're going to a formal event since you're thinking diamond studs and sleek bag? i just don't know if white cotton eyelet works with those kind of formal accessories though...maybe others here disagree? i mean, i think you could wear it to a formal event, just not like that. anyways, it would be helpful to know just what kind of event you are going to in it.

I saw you got this this in another thread- and i was thinking- but didn't say- this would be so much more wearable in a knee length. well great minds thing alike!

For the shoes, I would go with slingback sandals. If at all possible in the same color as the ribbon sash thing. Stilettos are my fave- and I think they would complement the delicacy of the dress. Slingbacs because with a knee length dress they create an unbroken line to the toes, making your legs look longer and slimmer^_^ and who doesn't like that right?!
-pretty much any open toed heel without an ankle strap would be good

and for the bad- I'd go with a very simple, plain clutch, not the same color as the shoes, too matchy- so either white, or a metallic, and then match your earrings to that.

PS Diamond stud earrings go with any outfit

...i agree completely, after i posted my response i thought about it and that's exactly what i came up with imagining it in my head too. i'm still crazy jealous, that dress is beautiful. ^_^

about makeup, i wouldn't overglam it...it's a sweet dress more than a super-glamorous dress, especially knee length. i think that just some good mascara and blush would do well. and i would wear my hair down and wavy with some volume with that dress, any kind of updo is too much...

How should I accessorize/wear a black shirt dress (very simple, comes about 3 inches above my knees)?

I don't like to wear heel because I'm 5' 8" without them :)

Thanks ladies (and gentlemen)!

yeah- Exactly- very natural soft kind of makeup, blush and soft colored pink or peachy (natural with your skin color) and mascara- maybe a soft bit of shadow, like light brown or gray depending on your coloring. but defenitly focus on the lips and mouth rather than the eyes- it'll look more girly rather than glamazon.

I bought this red Gucci bag with a light gold chain with a dark navy red strap and off white patent shoes with the same but bigger strap - bamboo and gold buckle. I'm not a skirt person, so I have mostly pants suits. I'm not wearing these shoes with a skirt.

Is it OK to wear this shoes with navy pants and white shirt? There is something that is bothering me with the combo of dark pants and white shoes. Is it a fashion - no,no?

Thank you for the tip! :flower: I really liked this idea, and I think I will try it out!

Any more tips?

Btw, I have this black dungaree short shorts. I wonder what I can wear them together with? I was thinking about grey stockings and converse, but I don't think that's so very original...

Glad you liked it! I don't have any more ideas though, I'm fairly one dimensional.

I don't think it looks right- and it'd make your feet look big. I think it'd look a lot better with white pants and a navy top

Thankyouthankyouthankyou Dreamsetheral and stilettogirl!

How do you feel about these shoes? I feel they are tailored, a nice contrast to the dress.
