I recently bought a pair of white pants. It is the first white pants, I have ever had. The problem is, it is a bit translucent.
So my question is, what color/kind of underwear should I wear with it? And also what color shoes would be the best to wear with white pants? Would a black leather boots be fine? And what color/kind of top would be the best suit?
Please help.
BTW, I am male.
I bought my first pair last summer. They're a somewhat wide legged cotton pair. They're hard to match, but I've had success with a dark navy button down short sleeved shirt. I keep it untucked to give it a light, summery feel. I'd like to wear them with a black shirt too, but I haven't found one that quite suits them. Same with a lighter shade. I know something could work, but I haven't found it yet.
My aren't see through, so I wear my regular black briefs. I wear black loafers or other dress shoes with mine. Mine could work with sandels or some sort of white shoe, if I wanted an extremely relaxed look, but I don't have either. The boots should work- especially if you have a dark top.
Now I get to ask for some advice. I've had this shirt for about two months and I have a number of issues with it. First pairing it with some pants. Second, whether I should wear it tucked or untucked. Third, how to manage the scarf. Fourth, if the sleeves should be down or rolled up with the supplied button/strap.
Attached are 6 picture. The first is my range of brownish pants. From darkest to lightest they are leather, gabardine, cotton/cashmere cordoroy, cotton/cashmere, and pure cashmere. I'm not set on wearing brown with them, but it seemed the easiest option.
Then, the other pictures show it with the scarf down and then wrapped in two different ways. The same goes for the sleeves. I'd wanted you to see how they look down or rolled. It's looser that what I usually wear, but it is a 48IT, so I assume it's meant to be loose.
I'm also including runway shots. The first is the same shirt, but in a different color. I like the way they use the scarf, but I don't know where to attach it to hold in position. Also, my pants aren't as high waisted. The second is a collared version of my colors. I do have the jacket, but not the pants. I'm also not sure I'd care to hide the shirt away so much. I'm probably not going to wear it often, so I want it to be a focal point of the outfit.
Thanks!
EDIT- The shirt is silk.
