I just got this awesome dress from Meghan in, and I will be going to New York next week. I'd love to wear it, but brrrrr....
What could I wear with it to stay warm inside, but still look good?

Any ideas?
Really, any ideas at all on how to complete the outfit would be great, or should I just wait and wear when it's warm?
wear it over a pair of jns or leave it home...;)

.. so boot season is coming up here. and last spring i bought a beautiful pair of dark brown isabel marant boots but never really really figured out how to wear them. i think they look weird with jeans and with skirts i feel like this:

:ninja: :D

any input would be much appreciated ;)

mettchen actually i remember you wearing them and i thought you wore them really well. i think you can tuck your jeans into them or if you wear them with a skirt wear socks over the tights that are a little longer than the boot?

thanks anna. i remember wearing them with socks over jeans but the socks over tights idea is very good. never thought of that really. i think i'd like the look. gracias

Delerith - Beautiful purchases! Agree with Soft's suggestions & I also think a pencil skirt would work with the boots :flower:

Mett - A band member? Really? Maybe a longer skirt then :D But seriously, I can see them with a knee length full skirt. Longer slouchy shorts would be cute too. And I love the idea of long thick socks... thanks for that Anna!

I don't know Soft... everyone seems to get a response or two, but it would be nice to have more participation. Everyone has such different ideas about styling... it would be nice to have them ALL  I'm so greedy :p

Thanks for all you've suggested! When I posted it yesterday I checked the answers till fell completely asleep:lol: I thought that nobody answer but today I was soooooo happy to see all your responses:woot: :woot: :woot:
I think I should buy more colour tights:lol:
This jacket (or may be coat) is made from this on Maria Carla:D I saw it and said: I want the same!!!!! I've chosen cloth and lining myself:heart:
Testerday I was so inspired by this thread that found some new combinations using things I even forgot about;)

I recently bought this beaded vintage belt and I'm not quite sure what to wear w/ it?? I was thinking maybe a simple black dress, I don't know if it works with the blazer?

both ideas sounds like winners
Another way to wear it with a dress is if you pull the belt up so it sits just below your breasts making it a empire style :flower:

besides the top shown on Roland mouret's runway show, what should I wear with this top?
it is quite structured, but the body leaves a lot of room to play with...hmm...

I own that top too but I only wear it with the Islington/Ingleby (I get mixed up between the two). I have worn it once with a chunky necklace though.

soft I think that people do answer, but personally when I post something to this thread I would love it if even more people replied, even if more stuff has been posted since then. I'm still happy if I get 1-2 replies though :)

I'm seein' a dark tan or light brown crewneck tee under that maybe?

Arm warmers?

I love the idea, but how do you make them look good? And which ones look good? :)

Pick a color from the dress and get a cardigan in that color- wear it with some knee boots in a medium brown- pointy toe w/ delicate stiletto heel- nothing chunky to compete wit the delidacy of the dress

I have this Armani suit, in black wool crepe:

I have no idea how to accessorize it. Pins, scarves, and most necklaces seem to take away from the drape of the neckline. Black shoes and a black handbag seem the most obvious choices--but then I'm dressed in complete monochrome black, which seems harsh. I have the idea that colored shoes/handbag would come across as being a bit forced.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

I'd say wear them as separates. The jacket would look lovely with an a line, wider skirt, and then you could wear some colorful shoes. Or wear the pants with a colored top.

I got this skirt ages ago but have only worn it once because I don't know what to wear with it. It's a full-circle skirt and comes to a few inches below my knees when worn on my hips. It also came with a tulle petticoat that makes it flare out wide and ruffly. Any suggestions?

You should wear a red top with it- I'd say a scoopneck would be good to balance the width of the skirt.

I'd say leave out the petticoat- too costumy

i posted the pic in shopaholics, but i'm gonna need a little help on this one... what should i wear these brown suede boots with?
Wear them with a knee lenght denim pencil skirt, a turtleneck sweater and a matching suede bag

What would you wear with this?

This is really pretty, and has metal sequins (hard to see in photo). How would you wear it?

I'd wear it layered over a simple T, tank or dress since it's a pretty intricate top in itself :flower:
