What do you do with your fashion mags?

What would be a good way to store W magazines? I've got every issue so far for 2006, but I was thinking of doing something else with them at the end of the year - I just don't know what. :ermm:

I do collages and I keep my favorite ads on my wall (not many), the rest is stacked in cubic boxes.

I have mine stacked in very neat and organized piles, I'm obsessed with keeping them in good condition :P

I have created a scrap book from my favorite pics. I use too have so many fashion mags ! But i was moving and didnt want to pack Literaly 2 BOOKSHELVES worth of Magazines in boxes. So i went through all of them a ripped out my fav pics. My collection started from the early 90s. And i still get inspired from fashion, hair, to makeup!

^^ Sounds good! I have just moved and I'm trying to decide if I want to lean into it and buy new bookcases just for the mags or get rid of some.... My collection (mostly Vogue) goes back to the 80s with several issues from the 60s and 50s (which are very interesting) so I can not consider getting rid of them all...Decisions, decisions...

I have the same problem...all my other magazines are in my bookcase but W is too big to fit, so I have them in a pile by my desk....

I'd like to cut out my fav adverts + editorials for wall posters, but then I dont want a pile of vogues ripped to shreds :(

I leave them in the waiting room where I work. I encourage patients to take them home. I used to cut-n-paste-n-collage them to pieces. Now I can't risk X-acto blading my delicate massage therapist fingertips.

I immediately dissect them for anything worthy of hanging up or saving. I do so by basically ripping the binding of the magazine in half where the page I want is at. (Yeah, I need a new strategy.) I have a pile of fractions of magazines in my closet, and I go through them when I'm bored. The main reason that I keep them is just in case I change my mind about a specific ad campaign, editorial, model, etc. I also love to make collages, so I keep them for that too. I'm working on collecting my favorite editorial work for a big collage I'm going to make. I'm planning on getting a huge, huge frame, almost the size of the wall (if I can't find one, I know someone who could make one), and I think I'll just flatten the pages against the glass and put some thick cardboard or something behind the pictures so none of them move, while I can still change the pictures every once in a while if I'd like.

i only keep my favourite ads and pics for inspiration - usually i put them into a scrap book. my older scrap books hold pics from all my beloved magazines i collected "back in the day", before i moved.

I keep six issues in my shelf. The rest I dissect and scan into my computer.

With a sudden bout of energy tonight I started papering up my walls, not really knowing what to expect.

I ended up putting fashion ads on top. I'm not sure what to think. I like it, but, my room is pretty big. Should I press on?

Thoughts or suggestions please..

If I ever get round to buying my own house, rather than just renting, I'm going to turn one of the rooms into a 'magazine library' - and hire Peter as 'shelf architect' given his superb collection! At the moment, my older mags are in the garage of my parents (and I am convinced that my father will one day have a heart attack from having to heave them around in the garage to get at vital stuff like tins of paint) while my more recent purchases, I line them up, titles side by side, along the wall of the main bedroom in my house, with the newest issues sitting on top of each title stack.

Pavement, I love it! I read somewhere that Calvin Klein had a series of shelves made to put up an endlessly evolving display of art; I have started to try this with matching frames on one wall that I can fill with ads and internet pictures from the latest shows- sounds interesting!! Let us see how your room developes!:D

make sketches from them which i turn into sculptures and ulimately short dance films
