What do you regret not buying?

Don't you wish you could exchange all the crap that you regret buying with the stuff you regret not buying?

Yes!

I regret not buying a Givenchy cape I saw the other week. I loved it but I have other black capes and it didn't seem worth buying at the time but it was gorgeous and, now I've had time to think about it, really not that much. It was the last one left as well.

I had gone well over my March 'shopping budget', and feeling guilty, was holding out buying this Dries Van Noten clutch for a while, and when I finally went to buy it, it the last one sold  Was so devastated!

I was going to buy a black Balenciaga blazer at the yoox sample sale for $158 down from $1000+, but I waited a little bit too long and it sold out. :( I should have just got it as soon as I saw it. I don't know why I waited.

i do this too. i put a bookmark on it even though i could but it then and there then i go back really casually then what do you know.. it's sold out!! and i feel real sorry for myself haha.

i missed out on a pair of YSL slides with a bow i thnk one of the olsens wore on a photo shoot. it was only 100 US dollars. someone made an offer and got it for only like 60$.

Last year there was a gorgeous dress by Catherine Malandrino, the 'watercolor dress' and I wanted it but kept putting that purchase off, and then within a few weeks it was sold out in my size everywhere. . . I still dream about it, there is a wedding I'm going to this summer that I want to wear it to soooooo badly. UGHHH........ stress!

A Stella McCartney top that looks a little like a faded Monet watercolour..
Also a Sonia Rykiel wool skirt that I'm sure would have been a true buy-now-wear-forever piece.. too bad!

I definitly regret not buying this coat...its soo perfect! They had my size at the time but they no longer do :(

Juicy Couture - sale for 239$ from 478$

two things... (from last year)
1. a white patent Kooba Parker tote from Neiman Marcus Last Call for like $270 or something.
2. a pair of gorgeous chartreuse and pinky coloured high heel sandals from the Prada outlet that had been marked down to $90 or something equally ridiculous.
 :hardhead:

a vintage louis vuitton luggage at a flea market in berlin, 60 euros, it was that or not eat for two weeks, i should have not eaten.

balenciaga silk dress down from 1,500 GBP to 300 GBP.

still hitting myself over the head with a rock, as the dress was only left in my size and of cousre it was the last one. i should have picked up on the sign!

some awesome black vintage men's shoes for 22 euros. they were a little bit tight but i bet they still would have worked ...

I can definitely relate to this thread! 100% agree with wishing that I could exchange my regret buys to my regret non-buys  I think I need to organise some swapping events or something over the summer.

I regretted returning my khaki green Emma cook for topshop boots last year for the longest time.... I rang every topshop in the UK to try find a pair but of course by the time I did that they were all sold out in every size!! I panicked about spending that much on shoes as a poor student and slipped up haha. Luckily this year I hunted (boy did I hunt) them down in the gorgeous peach colour so my poor fashion heart has finally been put to rest about that.

Also regret not buying the Givenchy nightingale in Hong Kong.... arghh my perfect bag, but I had just bought a bag before I saw it and couldn't bring myself to do it! Don't you hate it when that happens? That is, when you've just bought something then you see something else and you're not sure if you love it more and it turns out you do!

Also regret not buying a gorgeous Anya Hindmarch blue swing coat with gold military buttons in the random pop-up sample sale they had in covent garden. It was only about 100 pounds or so and would have stylishly lasted me through so many winters. I bought a pair of impractical heels instead that I have no idea where they are!!! Sigh...

I have a good one that has been eating me for the past 8 years or so: one pink to white 'degrade' Gianfranco Ferre cotton dress shirt from the Greek Island 'Rhodes.'

Also, the silk butterfly Gucci mens shirt from the SS 05 collection designed by John Ray. It was imply fantastic. I still search for it on ebay, but no luck;(

Some really cute Pour la Victoire flats in two colors. They went on sale for around $55 for a while and I just kept saying I'd get them later and I never did. Now, they are sold out in all sizes except a 5.

A few things actually....

One was an amazing lacoste puffy gillet/ vest... It was so unusual as it was reversable... I know its sounding naff but it so wasn't... it was tweed on one side and just coton on the other... It was in Barcelona Airport... and I was in a rush... and it was the hottest day of my holiday and I was thinking of buying a jacket!

Second is a lush cashmere wrap around cardigan I seen in Ted Baker... They didn't have my size and they said to try the other store when I was in London... Well had a busy day of shopping forgot and then never seen it again... I knew the right size would have fitted me and looked lush... in fact wish id even bought the 12 as it would have just looked a bit oversized and stylish because of the fall of the garment anyway!

a really good condition vintage dkny denim jacket for $20, I was unsure about it and when I went back it was gone...
