Well, im not really "in the know" about all the fashion mags like most people here but wanted to voice my support for your words about the Gemma cover and how disturbing i would find that cover if i werent already so desensatized to the sexualization of young girls all over the media already...but even so, i still cringe when i see it because i find it sad. Thanks model mom, i hope to get back to normal in the coming weeks.

no, there is just one version, and i think it's for male AND female readers....i buy it occasionally myself, and i like it for their superb photography (which is not always my taste, but who cares?::

The six versions of Gisele's new Vogue Brazil cover. I am getting the one in the upper left corner. B)

The December Vogue Brazil was a Louis Vuitton special and also had Gisele on the cover. While I like the cover shot, the content was a bit of a let down. For starters, it was a plug for Vuitton's cruise collection, which was basically Marc Jacobs's take on Chanel suits. Gisele had two pictures inside, wearing the gown that everyone from Jennifer Connelly (US Vogue Nov cover) to Kate Busworth wore, but the ladylike look didn't suit her that well.
The real star of the brand, which was their princessy FW04 collection, was left for Marcell Bittar [sp] to interpret in the editorial, set in a forest. The clothes looked much better without the Gothic/Lolita makeup and the setting was fantastic. Too bad I am not a fan of Marcell.

There's only one version, but i-D does mens fashion specials every February (for spring collections) and August (for fall collections). Every other issue is generally a good mix between mens and womens fashion.

Has anyone seen the new issue of Italian Vogue with Steven Meisel's 'Hollywood Style' special? Oh my god it was so funny! Hana, Missy Rayder, Hannelore, and other girls posing as celebrities in faux-paparazzi shots by Meisel. Like an haute version of US Weekly! It's such a simple idea and it works so well. And the editorial is like 50 pages long! I think I may shell out the $15 for this issue. So cool.
