I have to dress up for my work this year (first grade teacher). Can't decide ...thinking of being the Tooth Fairy-big puffy pink or blue dress, tiara, wand, glitter, "bag of teeth", etc..... any other suggestions???

I love that idea! :flower:

Well, since I have a slight obsession with Alice in Wonderland :innocent: I thought I'd go as her, and dress my bf up as the queen of hearts, inspired by this picture:

Not too sure if he'll be up for it, but I think it's a great idea!

Oh, and any ideas on how to make a queen of hearts costume would be greatly appreciated!

OK, so I was thinking about being a fairy... just really romantic and feminine in this pretty sequined embroidered bustier and making a skirt in layers of floaty mesh and shredding the bottom.

Then I decided that I needed to do something fun and funny, because my friend is going to be something witty and silly, and I remembered that I was going to be Martha Stewart last year. But this year a Martha costume would be quite different... an orange jumpsuit instead of crisp khakis. So I was going to wear a jumpsuit and a perfect-suburban-housewife helmet head blond wig.

And then, I had an epiphany: I will be a chain smoker. I think it would best represent my sense of humor and it would be totally f*cking badass. So I'm just going to dress in normal clothing (cool... a little sexy) and when people ask what I am, I will take the cigarette out of my mouth and say, "I'm a chain smoker."

Maybe some people think that's totally stupid or ridiculous, but whatever. I am so effing excited.

haha brilliant!

I need advice on spiking hair. I have pretty short, fine hair (layered just around and above jaw length) and I want it to stick straight up all over. Can anyone help?

I've heard that I should use spiking gel, but I don't know what brand is best, where to find it, or how to use it best. Elmer's glue is supposed to work also, but I'd rather not try that.

Any advice is appreciated. :flower:

Yup, I'd be frank.
Still getting hold of a giant bunny rabbit costume.

I'll know tonight, Im going costume shopping with Stefan, he's being Valentino and im going to be Cleopatra

Ale u will look sooo amazing i know it ;)

im going as Karl Lagerfeld  i cant find a suitable wig anywhere though

i'm going as a peacock...pretty stupid, I know. I was hesitant about the idea at first, but then Prada's spring collection came out, and I decided that I had to do it. It probably wont work out to well, though.

:woot: I really like that idea, very different, and beautiful as well.
Costumes Update, for no real reason:
I've basically been doing a lot for anything other than my own outfit lately... My cousin's been trying to figure out a costume for herself, and possibly her boyfriend as well. Although she wants to do something sexy, I'm personally convinced that that area's been totally overdone. I'm putting in my vote for her to dress up as an open box of pizza, with a piece missing and for her boyfriend to be the slice. Or whichever way 'round.
Also, my sister, who's not only artistic, but patient as well, has really spent the whole of this evening putting together a white winged headress for herself. (She's being a Valkrei). Setting in each one of the feathers in individually with our tiny glue gun... And our friend, who'll round out the trio (as the Queen of the Night, from the Magic Flute), has so far sewn together a simple black skirt, and is going to dangle some sparkly black fabric from her fingertips.
I do feel as if I've cheated slightly since I really only had to go shopping for mine... I've also gotten some directions for spraying on fake blood, although I'm still needing a sword. (Another operatic character). Hallowe'en's definitely the best of the holidays!
