Because he obviously has a warped sense of humour. Unfortunately the joke is on the people who wear his clothes...

I'll say this ... I'd wear any Marc Jacobs Collection runway look (I'm trying not to sign up for those Marc by Marc holey tights) before I'd wear that Viktor & Rolf pillow strapped to my head, or that Galliano makeup (I like my eyebrows, thank you) ... btw, did you check out the new tweed jacket with the Peter Pan colar? The tweed is so interesting as it is actually two different layers. Funfunfun!
I know I know I know!!! I posted a picture of it on another thread. However, you told me something I didn't know--I can't really see the two layers in the pic, although there is something about the look of the surface that I haven't quite been understanding. If, that is, we're talking about the same one? I'm talking grey/purple tweed ... I see from saks.com that it comes in solid grey too. Let me go get the pic ... I just loooove the detail in the back ... (from bergdorfgoodman.com)
Of course this means changing my color scheme--or really having two rather than the nicely organized one I had planned
Oh well, life is all about challenges
And he has a special way of using colors, making them float together so softly. Like light beige, cream, soft chocolate brown, light grey and plum. It just looks so nice in the end with all the soft romantic materials, and the shoes... Little brown moccasinos with whipping bowties and gold pearls, black knee-boots with high heels and rounded toes... I like
. Beautiful + great quality.Sorry I didn't reply earlier. The one I saw in the boutique is a different style, but I believe that the material is the same. Yes I LOVE the jacket that you posted here. Those jackets are supposed to be short and fitted so that you can match with big skirts (I tried one in store and it fits well...I need to take it in a little though). I am considering getting a skirt and a jacket to make the outfit, but I guess I have to wait for the sale cuz they are pricy to mefashionista-ta said:I know I know I know!!! I called Neimans and they don't have it yet (and may not be getting it since they haven't called me back). I guess I should call Saks too. I don't know of anyone else here who would have it ... is this the one you're talking about? Talk to me about the layers ... is it tightly wrapped in tulle or something like some of the MJ and LV skirts are loosely wrapped?
As you might imagine, I'm thinking about this instead of the skirtOf course this means changing my color scheme--or really having two rather than the nicely organized one I had planned

Oh, and sounds like you saw it in the store--how did it fit? Did they have the purple top too, and if so what did you think? I like how the ruffles peek out in the back ...

. That's good. Something like the first step
. I love his fashion shows: he knows what we (women) need to feel good. You can feel sexy in his dresses or more normal only if you want to. His shows are really great for me even if they're similar. His clothes are absolutely beautiful for me. These colors, flowers, ... Everything is just perfect. I like his dresses the most I think. I remember that this one on Elise Crombez for Fall 2005 was really amazing (the blue one?). So... Marc is nice. I was talking about his clothes, not about him, but I really like him. Marc Jacobs is cool. Isn't he?I say I love MarcAmelia said:I love Marc Jacobs because I can't see the reason why should I hate him. That's good. Something like the first step

It's definitely emotional. His pieces help me express myself and I feel so different in them
Caffeine said:Fashionista-ta, the one I saw was #6. I think that the material is the same-two layers of tweed...like a waffle. I do have the look book but it doesn't tell you more than the website. The pictures are more clear though. There is a blur back look in look 7 and it seems like the same back finish as the one shown in your picture. I don't recall the details of the jacket that I tried on, but I remember that the back surprised me. The front was just a cute peter pan colar but the back is so unique. I guess that it is the one in your picture. You can't tell from the runway pictures because they didn't fasten the buttons.
I had no idea about the size thing...Did you tell them your size to see if 8 work? Did you ask them if it is possible to make a 10 now? In the worst scenario, you can order an 8 and give it a try. If it doesn't fit, return it, and you will get store credit to pay for your skirt and other stuff. If it fits, that's great. Maybe they will have somebody ordered a 10 but decided to pass. Neiman or Saks might have your sizes in stock?
Finally, Rob in the Boston store is always very helpful. Or call Mary, who is the store manager and very sweet. Good luck and let me know how it turns out!
And they did say they were going to check with the other stores, but never got back to me with a definite no (but that's what I'm assuming). So yeah, I'm gonna have to get it from one of the retailers that operates here and pay sales tax ($200+ that I could be spending on something else, really bugs me
, all because I didn't have good information when it was time to pre-order!). And yes, I did ask about is it too late, and it is because now they're taking resort orders. (What did you think of resort, btw--I remember someone commented in the other thread that they didn't see the detailed work in it, was that you? It just looks like a bunch of eyelet--'scuse me, broderie anglaise--to me.) Maybe the photos aren't telling all, but from 1300 miles away, that's all I can see
Caffeine said:I didn't see any resort pieces in person so it's very hard to tell. I am not a huge fan so far...and plus, my bias is that designers probably put less efforts in resort collections and they are more bold...not everyday wear.
do you have a local tax free day? we have a day in MA. Maybe you can ask a friend to place an order for you to avoid the tax and then you reimburse the $$ and pay for the shipping only?
btw, where are you?
I actually like resort because a) it's available early, when I like to shop and b) I like bold accessories, so that works for me. Yes, we just had tax-free weekend this past weekend. However, it's only on items less than $100--and may I say this hardly qualifies
A new mall will open, and 90+% of the stores are stuff we already had. Also, I go into Neimans to try on shoes I've found on the website, and they've never heard of the brand (apparently when it's a Bergdorf's buy--they share everything between the sites, and this season they're using the same pix). I remember for spring the skirt I bought was on a blonde for Bergdorf's, and a brunette for Neiman's
Well, enough whining and rambling from me ...
