I feel like sometimes people just say they like Prada because of the name. For one, I despised S/S 2013 womenswear at first, never wanted to look at any of it again, but it kept drawing me back. The prints on the fur and the bags with the little flowers and the glasses really drew me in. I had the same exact experience with F/W 2012, hated it at first, then grew to love it. Prada really is an acquired taste, for the most part, people would look at it and say "Ew that looks horrid" but you really do kind of have to look beyond just the clothes (unless you're going to buy them and don't really care about what they are about and just care about how they look). I for one am a much bigger fan of Miu Miu than I am of Prada, it always feels less difficult to pull off, much more relaxed, theres something about the prestige of Prada and the whole production itself that makes it kind of scary, Miu Miu is nothing like that. To me, Prada is like the stern grandmother/great aunt, while Miu Miu is like the more mature, but young sister.
