Why do you like/hate Prada?

^No I don't think so. I do think that Prada is timeless.

I feel like sometimes people just say they like Prada because of the name. For one, I despised S/S 2013 womenswear at first, never wanted to look at any of it again, but it kept drawing me back. The prints on the fur and the bags with the little flowers and the glasses really drew me in. I had the same exact experience with F/W 2012, hated it at first, then grew to love it. Prada really is an acquired taste, for the most part, people would look at it and say "Ew that looks horrid" but you really do kind of have to look beyond just the clothes (unless you're going to buy them and don't really care about what they are about and just care about how they look). I for one am a much bigger fan of Miu Miu than I am of Prada, it always feels less difficult to pull off, much more relaxed, theres something about the prestige of Prada and the whole production itself that makes it kind of scary, Miu Miu is nothing like that. To me, Prada is like the stern grandmother/great aunt, while Miu Miu is like the more mature, but young sister.

I adore Miuccia because she's fearless. She doesn't have someone over her head pulling the creative strings, that's probably why I dislike Bernard Arnault so much. I'm the type of person who is usually drawn to the unconventional. I like how quietly sensual her clothes are. The high slits, exposed undergarments, and the exposure of skin is so demure yet incredibly sexy. Miu Miu F/W09 is among my top 5 Prada/Miu Miu faves because it was incredibly cinematic and sensual, it was just heaven. Prada is also less obvious when it comes to design, she doesn't just give us a plain blouse or a nice dress, but rather a statement piece that becomes timeless. Recently she has been going for novelty (S/S11/S/S12) but now she's going back to her roots of "Ugly Chic" with her latest Women's shows which I appreciate more. I don't know, I just appreciate her work more than other designers. Anyone can make an extravagant ballgown, but not an intellectual piece that can actually live a life off the runway for years and years after it's prime season passes.

i like prada for being interesting, but i do find it unwearable. some of the ads in years past i've found inspiring.

The Prada show is one of those, or even the only show that when u first looked at it, u go 'why Miuccia? Why this?!' Then when u watch it several times and the vision she have. U'll understand the story behind this. She's a visionarie. Amazing women.

What I hate about Prada - Prada, the brand has a rich history and therefore it's clientele, those really rich ones are usually the more mature women. They are may be fashionable but there are some restrictions on it. Prada and Miu Miu is one of those brand in which the whole RTW section could be the commercial pieces and their runway were mostly not in production. There's a gap behind the editorials samples and in-store merchandise.

It makes me sick to see how watered down and modified the clothes are in the store. :yuk:
