Yohji Yamamoto F/W 2002.03 Paris

It's a bit funny I can even remember the day when this came out on style.com. Wasn't that much into it at the time and still am not, what's great about him is that he tends to deliver something that may feel a bit quiet or sort of unimpressive one season, and then next season comes and bam.. he creates something so beautiful.. it's like he takes a break lol. This is a good example, Spring 2003 is easily one of my all-time favorite collections, if someone gifted the entire thing to me, I probably wouldn't need to go shopping for like 10 years. The collection before this with the poetry on the skirts is also a memorable one.

It's fabulous!
You know something is good when it's 20 years old and still looks modern!
I think what I love the most about this collection is how the master tapped into all the "obsessions" of Japanese designers: Americana, denim, workwear...etc.
It's a more urban Yohji, maybe less romantic , poetic but very much dynamic!

I would just love for him to release the peacoats, down jackets and parkas again...Before JWA copies them!
And the knitwear..FABULOUS!
