A few misses but overall a really lovely collection, really into the deconstruction of the first handful of looks. Quintessential YY.

he sold me on the textures, from drapey, to diaphanous, to tangled, to smooth.
the mixing of prints with solids is pretty great too.

He never disappoints us. Iappreaciate how he creates clothes, and makes them fascinating not by the flamboyant patterns or embellishments but tricky details.

For this collection, i'm in love with this look. Just like the menswear fall 2014, he once again played with zipper to transform baggy pants to an interesting skirt. That makes me curious about the rest. I want to experience them to see how they look overall. I mean runway looks are not enough for us to jugde his design.

Not just that. The textiles are absolutely amazing! I pick the peek a boo fishnet and the crazy knit dress are my most favourite.

Just amazing, beautiful.

it is beautiful. and i'm not specialist of YY, but it looks very different from usual.
the lingerie, the fisher(wo)man, the worker, the waitress. patchwork. sheer.

it is beautiful. i get the yy. but it looks different. can someone link to any collection from yy that looks similar to this one ? in themes .... ?

reconstruction in the outfit, too.

i don't really like the "mini (denim?) jkt" ? and i dont really understand the golden looks ...

i really like this look http://imgbox.com/tUAex48n

someone said to me once that YY likes to "show feminity, sexuality, sensuality" without showing it at all - or something similar. almost like a secret. something no one knows but you ... and your lover (or not).

i like it a lot. but it is still dark to me, in terms of YY's line history.

Probably my favourite collection this season. Love the way he sees the clothes. The uniformal, androgyne versus the romantic feminine. He takes it somewhere else.

It amazes me the way Yohji thinks about clothing, its beyond what anyone else thinks and does. He's play on darkness is fascinating.

The very first image marc posted to start this thread is beautiful.

The first section with its classic Yohji deconstruction and fusion that always has a whiff of the scholarly, but this time also a hint of a tease, all in shades of black with white, and executed in an exact and carefree composition is really, really interesting. Too bad the concept didn't evolve into something more disciplined as the collection progressed.

Then it starts to fall apart-- literally. The clothes look like they're falling off the wearer's body. It would be interesting if the articles of clothing were as interesting in design as the first section. But more motorcycle-hybrids in gold, and undergarments... all comes off mundane, common, and kind of boring in its contrived titillation. And all the web-like tatters with the messy spiked hair is just a tad too design-student feeling for my taste. Seems like Yohji's having a bit of juvenile fun and being flirty, but as a presentation, it's just messy to me. And that finale gown with the bouquet-as-bustier is really cringeworthy; it's the kind of "finale" that some students would think is dramatic, but in reality, is as original and overused as a ballgown with a motorcycle jacket and 9-hole Docs.

Yohji is much more disciplined than this.

hands down my favourite collection of the season. i keep coming back to look at the details. love his use of textiles and the way that the clothes are hanging on the models and his obsession with flat shoes ... i would buy every piece of this.

yep- and that is what this is again...

i watched the show video and i found these images on a stores website and then i realized what this show is...

all the clothes are designed for "easy access"...
you could almost peel some of them off...
unzipping them like peeling a banana...
or you could keep them on while making love...
...:P
the zips and the ties and the panels are all in very strategic places...
both in the back and in the front...
even the pockets are placed in an interesting spot...
*think janet jackson and her "manhand" bra...
...^_^...

she's come undone...

:woot:
so, for the show all the clothes were shown undone...
when they are all done up, one gets a very different impression...
these images below tell the story well...
and to truly understand, one really does have to see the rear view...

and he does that sexy japanese thing of pulling the top or jacket off one shoulder, like a samurai (or a poker dealer!- haha)...
similar to the way a westerner takes off his jacket to fight...
strong---and sexy...
:brows::stuart::shifty:

i think it's important to remember that we are looking at the work of a heterosexual man...
and imagine a man with every woman/outfit...
where are his hands?
:innocent:...
*i have to wonder how he did fittings.........

yep...
i finally get it...
and it's pretty f*ing brilliant...
:heart::heart::heart:

VIVA YOHJI~!!!

fray, ravel, erosion, fission, gap - dehiscence
escape from selfsameness
ecstasy
purity present in jumble, grace in squalor, asceticism in hedonism, conjecture in certainty
a kind of contradictory self-identity
zen
so, in a way, this momentarily becomes a variation on what is called wabi sabi. a bit tricky, luminous one.

nya...
"luminous one" is nice...

demo...
you seem to be the enlightened one, dear sensei...
i had to look up some words again...
dehiscence is particularly good...

i see what you are getting at...
your very cerebral approach makes me seem like some crazy sex maniac~!
:ninja:.........

but ecstasy is there on both levels...
and freedom, liberation...

it's good...
i like your interpretation along with mine...
"free your mind, and the rest will follow"...
^_^...

*you quote philosophers and i quote pop music...
oh dear...
...^_^...:P
