Your Five Most Disappointing F/W 06.07 Collections

Gucci (was looking so promising after last season), Chloe, Dior, Stella McCartney (not that its ever really that great, but this season was pointless) and Pucci!

CD...transexual John Galliano!!!

Chloe...I need something new not ss06+Marni's+Yohiji's+YSL's+ugly shoes.

LV...Marc Jacobs' with a LV monogram. He did best for NY but worst for Paris

Pucci...who can play with the color and luxury better than Lacroix, Williamson is just a commercial in designer sake.

Save the worst for Last!!! and the oscar goes to...

Gucci...disgusting how Frida combined the worst of both Missoni and Versace together.

-All of New york fashion week
-Louis Vuitton
-Gucci
-Marc Jacobs -I usual don't like his collections.....but this season cuts the cake.
-Chloe -I wish Phobe would of stayed.

haha too many to name. i guess ill have to wait until next spring to wear something i like. my 2 least favorites were gucci and of course, louis vuitton.

gucci seemed tacckkkyyy and just plain ugly. there was hardly a thing in it that i could stand.

louis vuitton was so terrible! the hats and murakami fur were just too much for me to take. even if any of the clothes had had any creativity or beauty what-so-ever it wouldve had too dark of a shadow from those awful accesories.

i was also disapointed by chloe, pucci and dior. eeew

This is pretty much my list, except I *liked* Chloe.

I thought Prada wasn't soooo bad, but after the spring collection, it was a definite let-down. Gucci and LV were just plain awful. Gucci is good for successful prostitutes, while LV looked appropriate for prostitutes who are down on their luck (i.e., the Murakami fur from the good times + dumpster chic), but unfortunately anyone down on their luck cannot afford LV ... :innocent:

PS Agree with Pucci ... you don't mess with a classic like that.

Chloe,John Galliano,Jean Paul Gaultier(these both collections were like horror films:yuk: )
 It's often that I've seen 'Galliano' a step away from being used interchangeably with 'frightful' :ninja:

i thought chanel was pretty sub par which was surprising. rick owens was also not so great which is even more surprising. ususally lagerfeld and rick are pretty consistent. dior was bad but i've never been a fan of galliano. oh and proenza wasn't so great this season either.

I think Marc Jacobs was quite in balance, with a horrible LV collection but a great Marc Jacobs collection and a acceptable Marc by Marc Jacobs collection.
The same counts for Karl Lagerfeld: ugly for Chanel, great for Fendi, acceptable for Karl Lagerfeld Collection.
BUT:
John Galliano had a very disappointing Dior collection and his own collection was horrible as well.

Hmmmm I can only think of two, Valentino, what is with the horrible graffitti type prints and Marc Jacobs, I don't get it.

I was expecting something more from these:

-Balenciaga
-Lanvin
-Rochas
-Margiela
-Undercover

Balenciaga - with spring as good as it was, they could have followed it up or at least been as good

Chanel - no

Stella McCartney - She's at her best when her clothes are form fitting and have shape

Alberta Ferretti - Started going downhill after Scarlett wore her to the awards a few seasons back

Oscar De La Renta - I used to love his collections, but this was pretty atrocious

Ooops I forgot to add Valentino...He's getting to only producing 1 worthwhile piece per season.

I think the biggest letdown for me was Hermes, I was really expecting something great becasue I really enjoyed the last two f/w collections he put out.

This is just curiousity, but how much bad feedback really gets back to the designers, becasue first these are jsut opinions but at some point they affect sales, and obviously McQueens collection should sell more than say Gucci (even though there is always a market for Gucci)for next f/w, but what im asking is, if anyone knows hwo that negative feedback works within the big fashion houses.

My biggest letdowns are

Prada
Miu Miu
John Galliano
Balenciaga
Chanel

What was so bad about Vuitton people? Sure there were some hideous pieces and accessoiries, but overall it was an ok collection, no?

Definitely some designers (big and small) pay attention to what the important critics and editors say. We know this because they talk about it ... This is, of course, a bit disappointing sometimes as these VIPs don't always have all the discernment one could wish for.

And then of course there's "box office" ... both wholesale & retail buyers. And if the first don't like you, the second don't get much chance to vote ... one good reason for having your own boutiques.

Even if designers aren't paying attention to this stuff, I would imagine their bosses (those who have them) are, and bring it to their attention if they haven't already noted it ...
