John Galliano

And honorable mention to Fendi. I have to say though that Fashion week this season in all was a let down for me. I Didn't like all the fur and the lack of ideas. It seemed as though everyone was copying each other.......so nothing was very innovative in my opinion.

I wanna switch John galliano for Alexander Mcqueen be it was way better and prettier.

1. Mcqueen. omg it was so loverly, i just loved it so much. mcqueen was back to form and yet wearable. i would wear everything from that collection if i could afford it.

2. Marc Jacobs. again, back to form, but doing something so different than what made him famous. it was chic and relaxed and fresh. and so interesting with cuts and details, i loved it

3. YSL. beautiful, Pilati does it again

4. Fendi, so luxurious and beautiful. it was just very chic

i dont know if i have a fivel, or i have a lot of fives

I can't really say until I see the entire Miu Miu and Lanvin collection... but so far off the top of my head ..

Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez, Versace, Fendi, Marni, Jil Sander, Balenciaga, Celine, McQueen, YSL

Biggest Let Down:

Prada, GUCCI! (BIG LET DOWN!!), Carolina Herrera

Alexander McQueen
Yves Saint Laurent
Dolce and Gabbana
DKNY
Aquascutum

La Perla Pret A Porter
Anna Molinari
Moschino
Valentino
Collette Dinnigan

Well, here's more than 5. I liked Haider's the best, the rest are not in any order of preference. I have a few issues still with some of BW's stuff, but Bernhard deserves a mention for those lovely knits and coats going back to his roots. Has anyone seen Christian Wijnants, did he show at all?

- Haider Ackermann
-Ann Demeulemeester
-Comme des Garcons
-Rick Owens
-Bruno Pieters
-Tao
-Hussein Chalayan
- Bernhard Willhelm

This season is really disappointing. Not many collections are impressive. Here are some collections impress me most.

Dior- It is still fabulous though I dislike the theme and the influence of the Haute Couture. Every single piece of work is amazing. Those coats, dresses, bags and shoes(Absolutely my fav).

Gucci-A great improvement, it's good for Frida. I'm glad to see this sexy and glamourous collection.

Balenciaga-Love it when I saw it. Worse than the last one, but still nice.

Not feeling too much about McQueen. It's good since it is a return of McQueen. Somehow McQueen is always compared with Galliano. And I'm a die -hard Galliano fan.

1. Alexander McQueen
2. Balenciaga
3. Viktor & Rolf
4. Hussein Chalayan
5. Fendi

most disappointing:
Chanel, Louis Vuitton, John Galliano and definitely Valentino (which was not just disappointing but also horrible!)

I can't quite seem to put the following in order, but I can definitely say the McQueen is #1:

McQueen
Marc Jacobs
Fendi
Yves Saint Laurent
Lanvin
Viktor & Rolf
Sonia Rykiel
after seeing the whole collection at style.com, i want to add that lanvin is definitely last on the list, if not off. no longer a favorite collection (should have waited on seeing pics from whole collection...jumped the gun there) but still, i like it to a certain level, just not .

My faves in no particular order are -

Balenciaga - the skinny black pants, the coats, the cropped jackets with high peplum skirts .

Alexander McQueen - the tweed coat on Gemma

Celine - simply pretty and wearable clothing

Preen - love all the cashmere wrap dresses, jackets and coats

Burberry Prorsum - liking the cropped quilted jackets, and all the black feminine pieces.

Big disappointments - LV what a shame I used to be a LV VIP but have bought less and less this past year, still rate his only label though. Lanvin - pleasing the core clientele no doubts mature women with class. Chloe - never a big Chloe fan but did like Phoebe's style, fab coats, boots and bags of previous years. Gucci - I was one of the only people to like Frieda Giannini(sp?)'s cruise and spring 06 collection and was looking forward to see this aesthetic evolving in the autumn/winter show.

1. Ann Demeulemeester (by far - big surprise )
2. Hussein Chalayan (absolutely gorgeous, as always)
3. Alexander McQueen (back to "basics")
4. Bruno Pieters (I love his silhouette)
5. Junya Watanabe (his punk is the best punk, especially if it will be anything like what's in stores now)

Runners up:

Comme des Garcons
Tao
Aquascutum
Gilles Deacon

He did and we have a thread on it here with pics. Do a search. It was a great show, big step forward for him.

My Top 5:
1) Alexander McQueen; Who else was it going to go to? Even without the Kate hologram this was head and shoulders above every show this Fall. The clothes were divine.
2) Versace: I am by no means a Versace mean, I haven't really cared much for previous collections. But this was brilliant, unlike alot of other designers it wasn't trying to be something it wasn't (like Marc Jacobs making Louis Vuitton almost grunge like).
3) Celine: So utterly wearable, I particually loved the huge brown crocodile skin bags.
4) Giles Deacon: The colours and the shapes were brilliant, and nice to see such a good collection in London.
5) Sophia Kokosolaki: Wasn't a fan before, but I am in love with the gold mini dress.

Honourable Mentions:
Alessandro Dell'Acqua: I loved all the dresses, there were so many full outfits I could have worn.
Vivienne Westwood: Absolutely, fabulous!
Marni: I like the laid back vibe, and I hope big slouchy trousers are making a comeback.

OOOok, my top ten by Grace.

Alexander McQueen - Top definately. Its true that it was slightly retrospective but I felt it was more a highland r*pe revisit and in that sense it made it even better for me because I saw how much he's developed. Both shows were theatrical but whereas highland r*pe was more angry, this collection (anyone know the name) was poetic. (I think style.com said something very similar in their review and its probably articulated much better!) Obviously this is highly unlikely, but it also make me think that maybe McQueen new he had to get back up and did the retrospective thing deliberately.

Not sure about the other ranking but:

Hussein Chayalan - The first collection I've ever liked with a colour scheme like that! Beautiful

Aquascutum - An old favourite of mine and only the 3rd collection.

Giles - Return to form after last season! Real fun.

Jonathon Saunders - Before I've found the colourful graphics beautiful but a bit hard on the eyes, the grey I thought was lovely.

Preen - Cliche maybe but I love it.

And goodness I can't think of anymore. Hmmm so my top 6. Top marks also go to maxmara and fendi definately (for improvement) and marni just for Lily Ds first outfit.

Most Disappointing:

Chanel. Karl needs to be put down.

   You *almost* made me BWAH-HA-HA at my desk :P

I see that many people didn't like Chloe ... while I grant you it is a bit voluminous for real people to wear, I thought it was quite nicely done, and glanced a second time at a few pieces.

I too was diappointed in Lanvin, and pleasantly surprised by Cavalli. At least 90% of Vuitton was awful (did he accidentally send LV down the MJ runway?), but after the bitter disappointments of the spring collections, I didn't really have any high expectations for fall.

As mentioned previously, I liked Sportmax a lot, Celine was good, MJ stood out among the NY shows. McQueen, Dries, Missoni.

So, in no particular order, I guess mine are ...

  • Chloe
  • Cavalli
  • Sportmax
  • Celine
  • Marc Jacobs
  • McQueen
  • Dries
  • Missoni
  • Narciso
There are still a few I haven't seen, so will leave a slot open ... I thought Valentino could have had quite a strong show if only half or so of the looks had been edited out. It got off to a strong start and then bad things started happening ...

My favourites...
