ta ta, I know it's from a while ago but thank for your reply on the vaulted ceiling and chandelier. I was going to post a picture of it since the ceiling isnt the usual vault but I asked the electrician/painter and he said theres no way to put up that gorgeous zeppelin lamp I wanted in the living room Will have to keep dreaming about it until I can get a house sometime! I can hang something up in the bedroom so I'll think about that.
But the bedroom is a great place to have fun with light fixtures ... In one I have a beautiful vintage Danish Deco fixture--black wood accent, custard glass spheres, & chrome. In the other I have a Modern Fan, which I think I posted earlier in this thread ... there are so many cute chandeliers, like at Anthropologie, or vintage ...
There's a really great Australian mag called Inside Out. Lately they have featured the work of stylist Sibella Court, whose apartment in NY is really amazing... She groups a lot of natural objects in a really lovely way. It inspired me to raid my Grandfather's shell collection from when he was stationed in the Pacific during WWII. I have them displayed in glass jars along a high window sill... For those in Sydney, Sibella has just opened a store in Paddington I hear... Interested to hear what its like.
here is a pic of the 7 chair, although I'm not perticularly fond of it I've seen it used nicley in designs before.

I really like the modern mixed with vintage glamor style like in the pics guijano posted. woodson and rummerfields do this really well but I agree modern often looks cold and the vintage glamour style often looks too formal. the modern/old fashioned mix is the look I'm going for but I'm doing it in a more casual way and I think all the color in the room along with some personal touches keep it lively. Not absolutely everything I have would fall under modern or old fashioned tho which makes me wonder if cohesion is an issue but I seem to think it somehow works together. I really like a quote I read once from betsey johnson "if you love it and it's beautiful, it goes with everything else you love and is beautiful".
This is my little tree from Ikea - or kinda big, it's taller than me now I really feel like decorating it for christmas with silly glittery deers What do you do for christmas? Nothing? Everything? I usually don't do anything, but I feel like deers this year
