Your Magazine Cover Predictions & Speculations

I sort of doubt Anna will want a big deal made out of it being her last cover. Especially since she's not truly headed out the door.

I heard a rumor that Taylor Swift has new music out in September (not a re-record... maybe I'm clowning) and she would be a fitting amount of star power for a final September issue without going the "best of" route (for example, Edward's final March issue) but Taylor doesn't seem to care about fashion covers whatsoever these days. I don't think she's done a single fashion magazine cover since January 2020, despite promoting like 6 #1 albums since that time.

I am not surprised for the lack of covers, Swift is not really a style setter.

I don't disagree, but since when has that ever stopped a celebrity from landing covers? Her decision not to do covers is a personal choice, not a lack of interest on the part of magazines.

I have never read anywhere that Swift ever made such a decision. However, I also do not mind not seeing her on fashion magazine covers.

Neither have I. But let’s think about it for a moment. In recent years, Taylor Swift has consistently been the top celebrity in the world when it comes to visibility, fame, fan engagement, sales, etc. She has had numerous projects to promote. What sense would it make for people like Anna (who gave Taylor four Vogue covers, including a March issue and a September issue) and the rest of them to suddenly just be willfully ignoring the phenomenon that is her career? I can promise you every major fashion title would leap at the opportunity to have Taylor on their cover over the past three years. The fact that she hasn’t can only be logically attributed to her making a personal choice not to. Likely because she knows she doesn’t need it. That’s why I’m saying, unlikely as it may be, I think she’d be the biggest “get” for any magazine come September.

That may or may not be the reason. However, I personally doubt that it will be her on US Vogue's September issue.

I hope Taylor paid you for this post, because....

But seriously, I don't believe any fashion magazine is scrambling for a Taylor Swift cover.. She brings the same vanilla to fashion, she brings to her tours. Nothing about that dull woman is aspirational.

Again, 99% of celebrities who appear in fashion magazines are not making waves with their style. I don't know why a different standard would be applied to Taylor Swift. She has atrocious personal style, but she won't be styling herself for a magazine, so that's neither here nor there.

You were just advocating for Anna giving Madonna a September cover in 2025, because that would be a "clever" and "witty" choice, so....

Well Madonna is a legend and icon. A fashion muse, and a trailblazer. Taylor Swift is none of those things.
Madonna was the first celebrity Anna put on the cover of Vogue, shot by Steven Meisel, and the result was legendary.
Ending her reign, by putting her on her last cover as EIC, shot by Meisel, could be an amazing exit. I don't think Anna is that clever or witty these days, so I'm not holding my breath.

September will be Anna herself by Tyler with a huge interview and her own Vogue cover would be a final homage to her great career!

Just me thinking out loud… or am I!!!

Looking back, it seems Wintour's second celebrity cover featured Ivana Trump, so just be very precise with what patterns you want to see repeated when you're sending out those cosmic vibes.

This was Wintour's response when Marc Jacobs considered her for the December 2024 cover (the issue that he special edited) : "When we talked about who should be on the cover, my first thought was Anna. And Anna just looked at me and she said, “Move on.” -- Marc Jacobs, part of an interview for The New York Times.

She didn’t know she was leaving then. This is different. And I would do the same at this moment. Btw Claire with the higest recommendation of Dame Anna will be great in Vogue US.

Just a guess or is it!!! 😉

First of all... what makes you think september will be her last cover? Did I miss something?
