I've just bought my black leather mombasa in the large format. They told me in the boutique that the basic model is their bestseller so they are still selling it (this was in Paris) alongside new versions each season. But I find the horn bit digs into my shoulder quite badly, have you found that too?

yes, quite uncomfortable. but you get used to it.

yes its horrible
so i try not to carry it when im wearing light clothing / tshirt...
its not so bad when i carry it during winter....
but it looks so good.. and thats all that matters right?

i really want a mombasa bag, but i can't find the one i want. its brown and its half suede half leather, with Y studded on it. can anyone tell me whats it called? if i can purchase it online? i saw it at a ysl store and they don't have anymore, its 995 if i remember correctly.

I don't know that it has a special name -- it may just be a special edition mombasa. I've only ever seen it twice and both in black.

Love the idea DIORLING, a huge crest on the back of a leather or deep dark velvet blazer, I can see in front of me it right now, very very YSL , very poweful brilliant diroling.

have anyone seen this mombasa in the YSL boutiques? if not please do & post ur impression...I'll be waiting

when I saw it I kept 'wowing' the whole day

I've got this one with the ebony handle with silver YSL script/stylized logo on the handle. I love it but find I don't wear it much now that I got my pewter metallic le dix of approx. the same size cause you have to be very parsimonious bout what to put in this teeny bag. But is that silver YSL script the "crest" you all are talking about? If so, the one thing I really love about this bag is that the logo looks very art nouveau and not like a visible big old flashy look at me I'm a logo logo. I do love the horn ones, but this one is pretty comfortable on the shoulder.
