1883-1971 Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel

Found a bunch :flower:

Chanel Winter White Wool Coat
French, late 1960s
Cardigan style, channel stitched nehru collar, sleeve ends and edge of four patch pockets, antique gilt-metal foliate buttons, creme silk lining, size 6, labeled: Chanel and tape label: 63930.
Very good condition, hem cut and shortened.

Chanel Creme Boucle Suit
French, circa 1956
The boxy cardigan jacket with duck egg blue grosgrain ribbon and looped wool and metallic thread trimming all borders and patch pockets, faux blouse cuffs, lion's head gilt-metal buttons, chain along interior hem, creme silk channel stitched lining, boucle skirt attached to silk camisole bodice, duck egg blue silk shell shirred overall, tie neckline, size 2, labeled: Chanel and tape label: 20441.
Very good condition, some armscye discoloration, cufflinks missing.

Chanel Pink and Ivory Tweed Ensemble
French, mid 1960s
The fitted coat contrived from two panels each side front, one L-shaped forming side and pocket extending to hem outlined with navy embroidery, notched collar and vented sleeve ends with same embroidery, gilt-metal and navy buttons at center front bodice, pockets and sleeves, half self belt with buttons at back, rear vent, pink silk lining, box pleated skirt, size 4, labeled: Chanel and tape label: 45?77.
Excellent condition, hem lengthened.

Chanel Chevron Tweed Dress Suit
French, 1960s
In marled autumnal copper tones flecked with dove gray, the sleeveless princess line short dress with ruffle peplum at hip, faux pocket flap either side on bodice, the cardigan coat with narrow collar, four flap patch pockets, each edge with cast-off stitch trim in self yarn, beige silk lining, brown buttons with gilt-metal centers, size 6, labeled: Chanel, and tape label: 37138.
Each in very good condition

Chanel Shirred Black Silk Dress Suit
French, circa 1967
Vertically stitched and puckered with ruched edges, camisole bodice, faux surplice closure skirt front and back, the boxy jacket with bracelet length set-in sleeves, black silk channel stitched lining and gilt-metal chain at interior hem, size 8/10, labeled: Chanel and tape label: 31907.
Each in very good condition, armscye discoloration on dress, maribou trim not original but removeable.

She was a legend. Period.
 
She certainly was. But where did she learn all this? I don't remember her working under any designer. Didn't she just set up a hat shop, and then continued from that? It's been ages since I read any books of her/her work.
 
^ that's exactly how it happened, she had 3 millinery shops (1912) and then she expanded to couture (1920).

Chanel Black Lace Flapper Dress
French, mid 1920s
In Chantilly style lace with chiffon, with a central rear panel of silk chiffon framed in lace, side and front panels with alternate inerts of lace and chiffon, squared V-neckline, the skirt comprised of various lace flounces over a chiffon underskirt, long half sleeves open at front, snap closures at wrist, size 6, labeled: Chanel.
Very good condition.

Pink matelasse brocaded with metallic gold, sleeveless with scoop neckline front and back, fitted bodice, slightly gathered five gore skirt, unlined, size 4/6, labeled: Chanel and tape label 12557?
Good condition, hem not original, some damage to gold.
