85th Annual Academy Awards (2013) #2

beautiful voice Adele! I sooo love her voice...though it's not my favourite song by her

I don't hate Adele's hair rn, but I prefered her red capert hair.

the orchester is too loud though and you hardly can hear her for the refrain

Really happy for Anne. She totally deserved it and for once her speech wasn't awkward. I still don't understand why people find her campaigning and ambition to get this Oscar she more than deserved as try-hard.

As for the dress I love it even more now. She'd be my best dressed if it wasn't for the weird breast effect and necklace. But she looks great !!

I honestly think Jennifer Hudson could take singing lessons from Adele. Sorry; not meaning to offend any of Jennifer's fans, but Adele's voice is so clear and real, and no screeching. She reminds me a little of Nina Simone!

Yeah, the orchestra is overpowering.

I know Norah Jones is performing, are the other nominees going to? It'd be so unfair if they didn't!

^I guess it's part of the job to campaign and lots of them do; I do get the impression that women do it more than male actors though (remember Kate Winslet or Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman or Julia Roberts to mention a few...)

Jennifer Hudson is not a talented vocalist IMO, she has a powerful voice but at the heart of singing is control, something she desperately lacks and Adele has a good grip on. I'm liking Adele's hair, nice to see it down.

Jennifer Hudson and Adele BOTH have two of the absolutely BEST voices I have ever heard.
They're both, however, very different (which is the case with most musicians). I love them both, so I don't understand the need to compare.
I think Jennifer Hudson and Adele both make it look SO freaking easy. So do Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, and few other young, female musicians.

Excellent performance by Adele as always. It would have been great if she could have presented Best Score right then. :)

I think you need a hearing aid. Honestly!

Adele must be so pissed that her mic wasn't loud enough for parts of that!. It doesn't get bigger than the Oscars

anne's speech made me feel so uncomfortable. #akwardness

Well, different songs call for different tones. "And I Am Telling You" is meant to be a big, dramatic song and it's conducive to a big voice like Jennifer's. I like Adele and love Skyfall, but her voice during this performance was not as amazing as it usually is. I'm thinking it's the orchestra, too. Also, Adele has been guilty of some loud singing herself in certain songs.

Or Gwyneth... Rheese.. etc!

Exactly... they all do it! Why so much hate for Anne? She's a wonderful actress.

One thing I'll say on behalf of Woody Allen, because I love him and so many people don't - none of his best supporting actress winners have EVER campaigned! He just brings it out: Dianne Weist, twice, Mira Sorvino, Penelope Cruise - he really writes good supporting parts for the ladies. And in general. One of the best scriptwriters ever, handsdown! [runs and hides...]
