Abercrombie Will Pay Jersey Shore Cast To Stop Wearing Its Clothes

Abercrombie & Fitch is willing to offer a "substantial payment" for the cast of Jersey Shore to stop wearing their clothes. The brand worries that the "association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans." Because seeing The Situation wearing an A&F-branded t-shirt is so much less disturbing than that padded swimsuit for little girls.

Is it really that serious??
they couldn't pay me to wear their clothes...:ninja:

Oh my gosh, hilarious.:rofl: Yeah, 'cause Abercrombie is pure class and The Situation is ruining their sterling reputation... haha!

^ive been laughing so hard at this...seriously!? The situations sums up pretty perfectly the A&F prototype..

seeing this headline made me laugh.

the brand markets to sleazy bro types, so if anything, they're probably making more money because of the show.

 I love how they think that A&F actually has any class.
Who do they think actually wears their rubbish? They may not realize it but people like The Jersey Shore do

That guy.... The Insinuation? The Castration? Whatever his name is, he's actually probably doing the brand more favours.

I'll be happy to be paid not to wear their clothes either. ^-^

Shame on you A & F haters!!!!
Their shirts and sweatshirt jackets are so cozy, love to wear them at home during cold winter days or when I go to bed.

I mean really- paying the Jersey Shore cast not to wear their clothes is just asking for more attention. If they really wanted to go away they would/should just do it quietly- up until now I didn't even know that they wore Abercrombie.

This whole SITUATION (harharharhar) just seems like a big publicity stunt for both parties...
Anyone know how A+F's stock is doing and what Jersey Shore's ratings are like this season?
I'd definitely be curious to know!

The Situation could have more market power than anyone imagined -- because a day after Abercrombie & Fitch offered him and the other "Jersey Shore" cast members cash NOT to wear its clothes ... the company's stock plummeted 9%.

Abercrombie's stock hit the new low today -- the first trading session since the company offered Sitch and the cast substantial $$$ to stop wearing A&F-branded products.

Abercrombie fired off a press release yesterday, offering the cast "a substantial payment" in return for not wearing its threads, claiming The Situation goes against the "aspirational nature of its brand."

A source directly connected with The Situation tells TMZ ... Abercrombie never personally contacted them, or in any way made a financial offer to stay away from A&F clothing.

Translation -- this stunt backfired big time.

Hahaha omg this is good I worked for them as a store manager for 2 year an they are not playing around when it comes to preserving the brand's image

Honestly I think people should be able to wear whatever they want, I don't watch Jersey Shore but who really cares ? There isn't an Abercrombie store where I live so I don't know much about the brand.

This is ridiculous. Please be more racist A&F.
The clear winners in this Situation (pun intended) are the Jersey Shore cast.
They're getting paid not to wearing this crappy brand.

I have to say all jokes aside i think A&F are such a vile company for what they're doing, i dont watch Jersey Shore nor do i know who the Situation is but what they're doing is so wrong. Imagine being told by your favourite label we dont want you wearing our clothes anymore, im i big Ralph Lauren fan if he told me that he didn't want me wearing his clothes anymore i think i'd be heartbroken lol. I just think thats one of the poorest tactics a company could make.. smh.

When you think of all the luxury brands such as Chanel, Lanvin, Gucci, Prada, LV, Dior etc they would never resort to such tactics to keep their exclusivness i dont see why A&F think they're so much better than the rest.

^Couldn't agree more and vile is exactly the word I would use. :flower: Realistically speaking, there's nothing about Abercrombie & Fitch, quality wise, that would possibly justify them being so offended by The Situation wearing their clothes. This nasty little brand is quite clear that they are not "exclusive", but exclusionary, which I find completely ridiculous. Their CEO is a piece of work too. All this stupid publicity stunt did was call attention to the fact that he wears A&F stuff (did I know this before? NO ) and make people who are barely aware of The Situation feel bad for him/sort of like him.

Jersey Shore is my guilty pleasure (actually I watch it and think "OMG. Is this possible that such people exist? Where is IQ? What the hell?") and I find the whole affair pretty amusing. Its just the icing on the cake for their season in Italy...
