noob question.

are there any good scholarship opportunities for undergrads in San Francisco?

for fashion, art, etc?

I know of about 3 art magazines based in SF.

I'm speaking pretty broadly, but if you know of anything let me know via pm, email, whatever.

Okay a question. So I didn't get into my uni of choice so I have decided to take a gap year and take a different one next year, so I want to do some work experience in the meantime. The course is fashion communication and promotion, so I'm assuming, it includes journalism, pr, advertising, styling it is quite broad and I would like to do work experience in any of these areas. I am limited to Birmingham and Manchester in the UK so does anybody have any suggestion of where I could start looking.

Plus how would I go about it? email letter etc?

Both Birmingham and Manchester have Selfridges stores, I work at one and know that there's been a marketing/events intern this year. I don't know whether this a regular thing but you could write to them?

I have four years of experience in retail management. Im trying to find an internship to help jump off my career. Its hard to find a Internship for a career of my choice. CAN ANYONE HELP?

After sending my resume, I've been asked if I'm interested in an intern in Hong Kong via email by the director of the company office, but I did ask on my side to if he can spare a few moments to meet me and he calls it a 'meeting' and not an 'interview' so what will it involve and have I already been accepted?

i'm not sure of something specific, but i'd check craigslist in their art/media/design section to get an idea of what's out there. if you want to be a buyer, than retail is certainly a good place to start. if you want to work in the fashion show side of things, you might try getting an internship in PR.

i'd say if you were asked if you were interested, than you haven't been accepted yet. it's definitely a positive response, but i'd prepare for the meeting as if it were an interview to be on the safe side.

what do you mean by scholarship opportunities? do you mean interning at a magazine for school credit?

How to go about getting an Internship for Levis

My friend who is graduating from a California State University is looking for a summer internship. She really wants to get into Levis in their marketing dept. Im not sure how to help her here.. Does anyone know a way to get in with Levis for a summer internship? Any help would be much appreciated shes struggling.. I tried to offer her one at my Co Rock & Republic but she wants to be in San Francisco not LA... ok thanks

I'd have her email the Levis PR&Marketing department. I don't know if Levis outsources that department or if it is in-house, but that'd be her best bet. Have her clearly outline her interest in the email and state who she is and why she wants to work there. She should end with asking if they will have any positions. If they're interested they will ask for her CV. Good luck.

But she's crazy to turn down R&R. I'd kill to work there!

Does anyone know anything about IMG World Graduate Internships?

I remember emailing IMG about internships - but not the graduate ones, but only the student ones. They're quite strict about for credit and during semester from what I remember.

Can I call IMG World in Hong Kong to ask if they have interns for their event management department. How do I go about it? If I get in, I will quit my other intern as I only been accepted last week.
