I heard about this weights in a magazine which you put around your ankles to walk around with for a few days and it tones your legs up and helps you to loose weight, it said that they are big the usa and la is that true ?? if so does anyone know anything about them ?? a brand name etc ??

Ive tried googling with no reasults

please help my legs will be eturnally gratefull :flower:

i used to run with them all the time when i was 10... i would win cross country by miles

ok maybe ive put this in a wrong topic could a mod pls move it into body and soal pls

u can get them for about a fiver in argos/index tia :p They're quite fun to wear, i wear mine (ahem stolen from my bro) around the house, when u take them off u feel dead light and bouncy...for the price giv em' a go... :flower:

thanks fab fifties fille im ordering them of there website as we speek thanks for the tip :flower:

I see many people running on the treadmill with ankle weights at the gym...

put long chunky aerobic socks on... put the ankle weights ontop of socks the fold the socks over and ruffler... nobody will know you are wearing them...

i never wore them on my ankles.......but im warning you.....DONT go running a long distance with them on your wrists.

i am an amateur athletic runner and going training with 1kg weights on each wrist made me feel like i was gonna pass out

omg these sound fun. argos is in the uk though isn't it? is there a place in the us that carries these? i don't really need my legs to be more toned but they sound like they're worth a shot anyway.

when i was younger i had the hottest body everyone was totally jealous... mabye i should start using them again :muscles:

just be careful how you exercise with them, or you'll end up with shortened soccer-ish muscles instead of lengthened ones like ballet dancers have.

how would you use them so that you lengthen the muscles?

and anyone know of where you can you get them in the states?

I am a runner and I am telling you DO NOT run with ankle weights on your legs! It is dangerous and extremely hard on your joints. Think about it, running is pounding your muscles hard - really hard - you don't need ankle weights on top of that. Any runner will tell you to put on "light" (1 to 2lbs) wrist weights and NEVER wear any weights on your ankles.
