what do they say in england when they fire someone...?
you have been made redundant...
having said that...
i kind of love it...
back to the basic AD classic foundation...
tbh- i'm perfectly fine with this...
this is the kind of stuff i would wear and will work with the pieces from previous collections that i already own...
it isn't overwrought and impossible to move in...
and it's still interesting and beautiful...
i love all the sheer layers and the prints and the embroideries...
just enough to add interest without becoming dated by next season...
the embroidered boots are a highlight ...
i also like that there is plenty of white mixed in with the black so it doesn't go all "goth" like some of her work used to...
Nice collection. Very Demeulemeester...but I wish more colors would be played with. Ann herself always experimented with various colors to go with her black and white collections
the prints and the layering really do make me think of her patti smith and jim dine collaborations in the early 2000's. agreed brought out the very foundation that is ann's work but i really enjoy it...to me it represents just how unbelievably timeless ann's clothes really are. what she did over 20 years ago is still perfectly suited for today as well.
Oh...it seems so formulaic...devoid of the winged soul...but who am I to say, and if I didn't know she had left I may just say it's not her best and leave it at that. Hard to say, and also too early to say.
