Yeah, what the hell happened here? Not sure what he's trying to do here, but this seems very far removed from what Ann Demeulemeester used to be. It's lacking everything I loved about the brand. Easily his weakest collection since he's been in charge.
I didn't want to be too harsh but seeing that none of you actually liked this I feel like my initial assesment was correct: a regurgitated mess of Lang-isms that amounts to nothing at all. The fit is awkard to boot.
This is exactly the same case as John Galliano for Margiela. It’s a good collection on it own but it has nothing to do with the brand attached to it...
I guess he doesn’t get a pass because he is not John.
Yes, this could have been perfect for Helmut Lang tho.
