Apparently Christmas came early this year and she's playing Rudolf the reindeer or she's trying to freak everyone out. Go figure.

NYMag has some amazing possibilities.

1. Jazz hands!
2. She's HAD ENOUGH OF THE DAMN SHOWS ALREADY and is going a little cray cray.
3. She's pretending to be a reindeer without the unsightly costume.
4. She wants to scare away the foreign press.
5. She wants to single-handedly, finally make the Internet entertaining again.

And then my favorite was from a commenter... ready for it?

She's playing peek-a-boo with Tavi

well, in her defense, that's a pretty bad depiction of her arms. it's not like the rest of candids we see of her look like that (maybe anna has blackmailed Tommy Ton so that he would retouch them, hmm? :P kiddin)

^Wow, I love that she got that coat, when it was shown I remember thinking how similar it was to that fall '06 suit of hers.

^^didn't I post it in this thread after the show? it was indeed very similar to that suit we've seen her in various times

Breaking: Anna Wintour Is Extremely Well Connected

After studying the celebrity photos on Getty spanning a year from 2006 to 2007, Professor Elizabeth Currid-Halkett from the University of Southern California has concluded that Vogue editor Anna Wintour is "the ultimate gatekeeper" of celebrity. This revelation is included in Currid-Halkett's new book about the business of fame, called Starstruck.
The author says an analysis of Wintour's social network reveals she's "more connected than anyone to these major, major stars." She's famous in her own right, and other famous people are "intimidated" by her as well, she explains.
It also helps that Anna is not keen on visiting L.A. or being photographed there. "L.A. was not a positive influence on your industry prestige," the author explains. Right, if Vogue requires a presence in L.A., André Leon Talley is the one to go.

is the "breaking" title supposed to be ironic?
i mean... she's among the 50 most influential women in the world (forbes dixit)
who needs a study (let alone a book) to reveal that any of the women on that list are well connected?

Yes, "Breaking" is definitely ironic, NYMag is probably the number one source of AW news, in fact.

I love Anna because she's not afraid to repeat an outfit. Well there are other reasons but that one is a good one.

Who else feels that Anna was smirking to herself as the Tom Ford images went public via Vogue America before French Vogue?

Anna at the White House dinner with Hilary and Princess Diana. Love the rouge lipstick. ^_^
