Appeared Del Moro cast Givenchy and not Brokaw.

Look like everyone is taking more interest in new faces/relatively new this season, like it's more apparent this season. Or just me. And the shuffle of girls is a good sign too, across the board from Brokaw/Del Moro/Bitton to Michelle/BarbLeila/Hindle. Lots of great girls this season.

Very happy for Yue Han and Ling Chen at Celine! Bitton saw something in them, so fantastic! The girls and Mona looked phenomenal.

And there goes another hit for Cong - no Valentino? Unsatisfactory!

Glad to see Sijia at McCartney. Scully checked.

Yeah, no Cong at Valentino but happy that she booked Givenchy for the first time. Only one girl at Saint Laurent...?

Sora... is ready.

Obviously I don't know Del Moro and co. personally... but why do I get the sense that their perceptions of Asian women, of what and who they think fits the collection/brand/mood or whatever it is, feels, not sure how to phrase it, but disconnected? Like do they really think Chiharu and Sora are the only 'cool girl/rocker chic/bad girl/sexy girl/rough beauty' or whatever the image is at Versace/Redemption/Versus/Vaccarello/YSL. Seriously. Are they really the only girls, who very well fit the brands with their distinct look/personality/style, that could only walk these shows?

The point is that their ability to cast other Asian girls who could potentially fit the brand's show is rather lazy, uninformative and downright unfair of possibly not even trying to try other models for these shows. It's copy and paste. Believe we all know a few models that'd fit the collection/brand/show's creation.

But again, from observation and this consistent 'attitude' towards Asian models - from their casting - has come to a boiling point where I just have to call it out, whether I'm right or wrong, but it's conspicuous that Del Moro and co. keep selecting the same models (sometimes none at all) for xyz brand and neglect to opt other options because of their own 'judgement'. And it's not that their judgement and perceptions are wrong per se, but it's more like they need to open their horizon when it specifically comes to Asian models being that cool girl/rocker chic/bad girl/sexy girl/rough beauty. There's a deep issue there. But I digress.

Well, if this is not reflective of the casting directors, or the stylist, then maybe it's the designer themselves. And obviously they have the last word(?).

Sure I'm no casting director (well none of us are), or in that room but I just think it doesn't have to be this complicated and we should factor out race. Yes. If we do, then I predict there would be more Asian models walking some of these shows, where they look the part and have what they're looking for. Positively.

Balmain, Alexander Wang and Marant are in the same boat too.

Bascially, I go back to the criteria and the "requirements" for selecting models for the show. What is it? I'd relish at the thought of being a fly in these deliberation - who we gonna choose to walk and whatnot. While this is not worth repeating as it happens all the time and across the board of models, but I don't get how some other models whom don't look the part IMO, but get to walk. Sometimes it's ridiculous. But we aren't in that room to make the desicions and see these models for what they are and could do. There it goes.

Hoped this made some sense. Will try to articulate this further in the future with more thought and ideas. Writing this in haste.

But one thing is certain. The Asian models that we do in fact have are just as versatile and qualified for these shows.
