Balenciaga F/W 14.15 Paris

This collection felt much more "Balenciaga" to me than Alex's previous offerings for the brand, particularly the opening and closing looks.

I really enjoyed the show, mainly because of the music though. The clothes are nice too. It's great seeing him use color this way. There's also a sense of continuity from his previous collection, which is good too. However, I can't just help but feel he is too limited in his design vocabulary. It always feels as if this is the most he can do and frankly, I don't think its enough. At the same time, this just screams Ghesquiere everywhere which of course makes it look like an adulterated version of his work. Still, credit to him for the way he used materials and how he combined them; I think that's the most interesting thing about the collection. Like this wool or cashmere and leather mix looks brilliant in my opinion.

This is a travesty, what is he even trying to say? Dull, trite, a NOTHING collection, not even some pretense at playing with textures, shape and colors! And seriously, those coloured zips? This is cheapening NG's legacy.

I cant get the idea of "carrying the shopping bags. It doesnt seem relevant to the rest. Some of them look sloppy and unflattering

Those shopping bags were ridiculous! Nice collection, but not outstanding, a bit bland imo.

I really enjoyed the collection. It feels like Alex is slowly building his own identity at the house. I'm saying 'slowly' because the references to Nicolas are still very obvious. That said, the last ten looks were quite spectacular(except for the ill fitting pants in the last three looks). Though I have yet to be wowed by his work at Balenciaga I can't deny that it was interesting collection with lots of beautiful pieces.

Nothing groundbreaking but I enjoyed the leather looks that Irina Kravchenko wore all the way to Daria Strokous.

Nobody can touch/cut a trouser like Ghesquière at Balen.

There's good and then there's bad.
The bad? Those zipper dresses. They just seem so cheap and pretty amateurish, tbh.
The good? Those last couple of pull overs with the embellishments, that rich yellow jacket on Hanne Gaby, and the coats with the zippers and use of bright color in a subtle way.
He still hasn't done THAT collection where I'm just head over heels and feeling blown away. However, I think it's a pretty strong collection and he's definitely progressing.

The collection certainly has an identity of it's own while at the same time referencing Nicolas' history in the brand which has such a strong footprint. It's a good step, Alexander Wang seems to be progressing and for his 2nd collection at the brand, it only works in his favor. I really can't wait to see Nicolas' collection.

i like the trouser CNB is wearing - cool new look and Vanessas elegant outfit

Well many of the silhouettes referenced old-school Balenciaga so that's a nice start. The open-knit textile looks super cool. The trio of asymmetric lapel coats/jacket definitely brought me back to Nicolas. Loved the simplicity of Julia's look

Btw is the coat Hanne Gaby wearing a lacquered knit?
