Balenciaga F/W 14.15 Paris

It probably feels like NG because it isn't overly feminine, no pastel and maybe even a lil industrial.
I prefer his last collection which has more of his own identity than this.
And yes, I also feel the rounded sleeves done since Hannah McGibbon at Chloe or NG is really not flattering even on the models.

I actually like the whole collection, I'm positively surprised by it. I thought last season was lackluster and underwhelming, but here he really proves that he's a perfect fit for Balenciaga. It just feels entirely Balenciaga to me, and honestly I would wear almost everything here. Also, can I just say it makes me happy to finally see awesome bags from Balenciaga? I always disliked Balenciaga bags and thought they never went well with the RTW collections, but under Wang that has certainly changed and I love it.

That leather/knit dress on Irina Kravchenko is simply divine

It was really repetitive, the ending looks in particular just dragged on. I didn't like the stripes or the zippers. What a truly uninspired collection, it looks like it was designed and created in the 2 weeks since his New York show.

this is truly awful. i got so bored watching the show, i couldn't wait for it to end. i don't like what he is doing at the brand at all.

Those two looks on Vanessa and Julia are absolutely divine

to me, A. Wang in Balenciaga is a no-no. This collection might have some good pieces, but the bad ones actually prevail. What's wrong with those coloured zippers and the whole outfit Hanne Gaby is wearing?

This is so not Cristobal's legacy, who took inspiration from basque fishermen's hats and did this wide ones, but classy. Now Wang seems to be taking this inspiration and making an ugly yellow raincoat, then combining it with that dress? no thanks

to whoever said that wang was running out of ideas, i completely agree, it's a shame cause i was giving him a chance with this collection to see if he can actually evolve and put his unique fingerprint on balenciaga but it's just not happening. over it

Incredibly forgettable.

I agree, getting Gisele to walk and all the "wow" factors that was put into this show just falls flat for me. The colors are really annoying to me, the overhead-sweater-things just look awkward... I guess there are basic nice pieces in this collection, sellable and whatnot but the overall effect is just forgettable

Lot of this draws from NG's and Cristobal's work but lacks that sleekness and sophistication.

Honestly its not bad but its very boring and the curvilinear shoulders are hideous he needs to stop doing that. He is really turning into a one trick pony at Balenciaga. He is good for NYC shows but he is not cut out for Paris.

I actually do like the collection towards the end. So many pieces are quite NG for Balenciaga. But this is a step up from last collection.

I was going to say this is beyond amateur and awful, but that would be an understatement. :ninja:

The colour section of the showcase brought down the colection and made it rather lazy, which is sad because there are rather amazing statuesque pieces with great shape and cut.

woah---i was finally ready to get on board the alexander wang train ...
but it turns out my original instincts were right after all...

yikes!...

I liked the end; the looks from Joan to Gisele. The beginning of the collection doesn't fit Balenciaga IMO

I feel very ambivalent about this: it's okay, but not great at all.

Other than that horrible belt with that out of place buckle ...I am thinking this is actually a solid , matured ,nothing directional but in the spirit of ,,,,better to be safe ....kinda collection ...
