I have a couple of questions Im hoping some of you can point me in the right direction, I bought my wife her first bbag last year, a black first, and she loves it, raves about it every time she uses it, and now I want to buy her another bag, the guilet/pebble day bag, but heres my questions:

- The classic day in guilet/pebble only shows up in the UK website and not in the US one, does that mean its only available for uk/eu distribution?

- The us site only has the GCH day in this color but Im in Canada and my only option is Holt Renfrew and they dont have it and will not get anymore f/w09 bags in, so I need to look to US sites like barneys but wandering if barneys ever puts these bags on sale or never?

- We'll be in paris later this year too, and I noticed the retail on the UK website was much lower than in the US, do they cost less in paris too? would they have a better selection?

Thanks all, I already have a GCH is this color spotted at barneys but want to make sure if the classic is, or is not, available here, as its her first choice, or is it better to wait and get it in paris.

shopace - Galet is really popular, I've seen the classic Day on the US site before but it has been sold out. I'd call/email the US Balenciaga stores directly and ask if any of them still have one.

In Paris classic Day is 675 EUR, in UK it's 540 GBP. GCH is 875 EUR in Paris, 680 GBP in UK.

@deeth, thank you very much, your info is very helpful, I will call NYC shop and ask about the classic.

I guess I should also just call barneys and ask if these get put on sale at some point, I've heard that almost every brand there gets at least a 1-day flash sale.

I knew I had the name wrong, I just couldn't remember correctly and I ended up confusing it with my razor's name I guess, but now I know its Galet, thanks again, +k4u.....

I should look into a reputable proxy for the UK too, seems like a good option if none available here.

shopace, balenciaga moto bags hardly ever go on sale unless they are holiday/special editions...
i was at the sf store yesterday, and they still had a large stock of f/w bags at reg. price...

if you call balenciaga or barneys, they should be able to find you a f/w bag by checking their inventories...good luck!

redsole, i thought about getting a street bag and then i saw the pics of the new velo style that's new for spring and i'm getting one of those instead...i love that you can wear it (the velo) cross body)...

Thanks for the info, I called B and they said all C-D's in galet are out, they still have a few GCH-D left in galet though, so I guess I'll end up getting her that one.

I noticed your UK quotes vary from B's UK website? they quote the classic day for $575 GBP which is still close to the 540 GBP you mentioned, there's no GCH Day on the website but you metioned it at 680 GBP which is less than the 745 GBP that the GSH Day is quoted in the UK website, is that correct? do the websites include vat and your quotes do not?

The Uk boutique is sold out of the classic day in galet, but they're looking into the GSH-D and the GCH-D for me and will email me back soon, so Im trying to calculate the actual cost between purchasing from the UK and from the US.

Also, I read earlier in this thread that someone lost a leather cover from one of the studs in their bag, My wife also lost a leather cover from one of her ballet flat studs and was asking me if I could ask you here if this is a rare, or common, ocurrance?
She had her ballet flat fixed at holt renfrew for free, which is where she bought them, but it makes me wonder if I would have to return it to UK or US if that were to happen with the new GCH-Day bag.

Hmm now I'm not sure, those were the prices in September when I last purchased from Bal London, maybe there has been an increase?

Well, I heard back from UK Bal and they dont have anymore GSH or GCH day bags in Galet either, so the US is my only option now.

Does anybody know the new SS/10 colors yet?

Im interested to see what colors are going to be available for the Day bags this coming season, maybe theres another color that my wife will like, and I could eventually get it locally @Holts and avoid all the shipping/customs hassles.

Yes it's definitely a deep red with pink undertones, no brown at all

I'd love a double tour..! Get both

Ok, I just read in tpf that Bal bags were 25% off in Dec @Holts in Toronto, cant believe I missed that, does anybody know if, or when, Holts will have anither sale on Bal bags?

Also is Ciel anywhere close to Galet IRL?
Or is the difference as plain as light grey vs. light blue

I went hunting in Barneys the other day, and that new Outremer color is FABULOUS. Such a beautiful blue! And the leather was fantastic...nothing at all like the papery stuff they had going on last year - almost as if it was back to chevre leather instead of agneau!

You can email one of the Balenciaga stores if you can pay with a credit card, and they will send you the bag

yea, it would be best to email or call a balenciaga boutique and order it...
$1095 is pretty much the price everywhere (that particular style doesn't go on sale) and balenciaga will ship for free on orders over $500...
