Balmain S/S 2022 by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Was the hair and makeup crew on leave of absence? Pfft

This could've been so glamorous.

I love Mariacarla’s shot in the black swimsuit. also Carla looks fantastic.

weird posing for Adut and bad lighting for the other pics. or maybe is the lack of make up:

considering the cast and photographers this campaign should’ve been stellar but all I can see is Teller photographing with a gun pointed at his head.

I prefer when they go oversaturated instead of this Teller aesthetic. Looks promising, though. Mariacarla will always be an ultimate star.

The casting feels Very Riccardo Tisci IMO…
Terrible campaign. Carla looks a mess…

Naomi’s leg shot brings to mind Brooke Shield’s classic leg shot with Calvin Klein. And I’m here for it!

It looks like a boring W editorial or something. For a campaign, it doesn't work.

Naomi looks great tho.

It just gets better, I think this is perfect for Balmain's "new" structured aesthetic. This is indeed Teller meets "A Quoi Rêvent Les Filles" editorial by M&M for Vogue Paris August 2015.

It's like they tried to emulate Saint Laurent's aesthetic but just couldn't get it right. The only good thing I can say is that it's nice to see Lara and Carla in action again.

I love the styling tbh...the clothes look all so good!

Not Balmain or M&M's finest hour but the casting certainly compensates for the fairly standard and subpar imagery. The weak colouring in the daytime photos is awful. The photos seemingly shot at night with Naomi and ones of Adut posing under a vibrant blue sky are far superior!
