Bi-racial/mixed models

Most blacks are mixed anyway because of their history (i.e. slavery). It's rare to find someone who is black and has a history of slavery in their family NOT to have interracial relationships during that period of enslavement in their family.

Anywayz, I kind of like the whole mix thing, but at the same time, I think it's overplayed as "exotic" which can get annoying pretty quickly. In the end, mixed people are just like anyone else; they're human. How do I know this? I'm mixed as well.

True..it seems like the only people who are obsessed with mixed/"exotic" people are non-mixed people. Most blacks are mixed but most blacks don't consider themselves mixed.

Ha ha  Point taken coco.. I'll get my vision checked :flower:

Miranda Kerr is Serbian, Persian, Turkish and Filipino heritage.

Let's not forget Selita-Native American,Irish,Jamaican, and Caymanian.

I'm Creole French, Greek,Jamaican,Haitian and Apache Indian.

I hated it when most of the other black students at my school always asked me if I was wearing hair extensions because my hair was longer-(Comes down to my back and is naturally straight.)It's an ignorant stereotype of blacks females...just because you have long naturally straight hair...it isn't real? What a shame.

It's rare to find someone who is black and has a history of slavery in their family NOT to have interracial relationships during that period of enslavement in their family.

Thank you! Karma!

Wow, I didn't know that about Miranda, thank you. I asked someone what her heritage was on this forum -- I thought she looked Indian? -- and they were like "She's Australian". Okay, that's like calling me Canadian... it doesn't explain what race I am.

she could be of aboriginal decent which is the original Australians..they tend to be dark and native looking.

I think a lot of people tend to get race and nationality mixed up (i do too sometimes).

Also if there is a mod that could change the name of this thead to just bi/tri racial models that would be great. Everyone has different cultures in their backround but it wasn't my intention to start a thread for every models heritage. I think the "mixed" is throwing people off.

where does miranda kerr get her turkish, filipino, persian heritage from?

that would be her heritage not her race right? I may be wrong but isn't she still considered white? Please try not to derail the thread..as I've said before, I meant it for bi racial and tri racial models..

yes,it would be her heritage.
and she's an austrailian by nationality.
and i don't think they have races thr(i might be wrong)

What are you talking about? How is Miranda white? For example, if she's Filipino then she's part Asian. If these things about her are true, then we're not derailing the thread at all..... Why is it so strict?

I am not getting race and nationality mixed up. Miranda is of Australian nationality, and the poster above explained what races she are.

Yes she's considered white just like i'm considered black even though i'm mixed with 4 different races. The Filipino mixed with the european blood she has makes her bi-racial though
They really weren't going off topic but from what you're saying it seems that someone who is bi-racial/tri-racial has to have a certain look to them that signifies it...? I don't think thats true:ninja:

Yeah, I don't think it should be so strict.... there's no point pushing certain people out of the category. Miranda definitely qualifies as multiracial.

Miranda Kerr is Serbian, Persian, Turkish and Filipino heritage.

If this is true, none of these qualify as white, do they? She's Asian and Middle Eastern... but I don't think she's Caucasian?

No I don't think someone should have a certain look..if it was that way I would have said something along time ago when other models who are biracial (but appear white) were mentioned. I don't have a problem as long as they are bi/tri racial. I questioned Miranda kirr because it seemed like more of a heritage discussion than a race discussion. Having bits of many cultures throughout your heritage is common amoung all people right? So when you look far enough into someones backround you can find some other race than white. I just don't want the thread to turn into a heritage hunt becuase that's not what it was created for. I created it because people in the black/African models were getting annoyed with bi racial models showing up in the thread. Don't get me wrong, I love cultural diversity but there is a point at which technicality is just BS.

I don't think 'technicality' is even involved. If Miranda is Asian and Middle Eastern then she's definitely multiracial, case closed.

Well that's fine I just wanted to make sure..no harm in that is there? Again, the thread was meant for bi/tri racial models..it was my mistake to use "mixed" in the title and that's why I questioned. Oh and she considers herself white ..it's good to see people posting opinions

Yes, which makes her even more sexy.Persians are hot.  I got it off from Wikipedia about her heritage. I don't know how accurate it is, but you can def tell she as a little "mixture" of something going on.Possibly Native Indian too,her chiseled high cheekbones...but then again....Natives aren't the only ones with "high cheekbones" though, there are other races aswell.I also think that's a stereotype of Native Indians.

I had always wondered about Serbians. Majority of them are dark, tanned, and mysterious looking. Weird how I've only seen brunette Serbian brown eyed males and females. So she is part white though...

No more discussions about deeper political, or ethnological, issues in this thread. If you want to discuss race/ethnology further there are many places where you can do so.

i won't deliberate... but maybe i amold fashioned but... a white person wouldn't be part asian or middle-eastern----adn i don't think she even looks white... her facial features...etc... persians aren't that dark--- just becuase tey don't have dark-skin doens't mean they looks white....there is a definite gap distinction between her and heidi klum...
