@Boomer, youa re absolutely most actors are womenizers and hardcore partiers, but to use your examples Errol Flynn I believe died in his early 40's do to his lifestyle, Burton was an alcoholic and also died quite prematurely and its not like he is known for his body of work.

Brando - of poor Brando the tragedies of his life and the tabloid media and the fame they were a huge factor in his misery.

I guess what I am trying to say is that Leo seemed really smart about navigating the pitfalls of fame, after Titanic and the whole media mess he really worked hard to regain control over his image and career. This just again makes him voulnerable to the whole gossip smut.

What vice has taken up in recent times that has you concerned for his health (or his career)?

Yeah, he took her to the Oscars like 6ish years ago, I believe. I think it's like only the first or second time he's ever brought a date to an event.

Of all the star couples, Leonardo DiCaprio, the playboy of Hollywood, and Blake Lively, the good girl of Hollywood, might seem the least likely.
"It's one of the most shocking couples we've seen in such a long time," said Jennifer Peros, a reporter for Us Weekly, which has the unlikely couple on the cover of the current issue.
"For Leo, to date this innocent actress is definitely different from his past resume of girls," Peros said. "He's always been known as this partier. But ever since he's been in Europe with Blake, they've had these quiet sit-down dinners."
After weeks of speculation that the two were getting close during the Cannes Film Festival, they were photographed May 27 holding hands while strolling down a moonlit sidewalk in Monte Carlo.
"They're having one of the most romantic European vacations ever," Peros said. "Leo's been wining and dining her along the French Riviera."
Representatives for DiCaprio and Lively did not return requests for comment.
Peros said DiCaprio is pulling out all the stops, including helicopter and yacht rides, $900 lunches and ritzy A-list parties.
"He looked very in love," a witness to the budding romance told Us.
"Her face lit up when Leo was talking," a fellow partier told the magazine.
Another source told Us that DiCaprio was introducing Lively as his girlfriend.
"I've never seen him like this with a girl," the source said.
Could this be love?

"I think it's a little too early to say he's going to settle down," Peros said. "But it should be fun to watch this cute little relationship unravel."
Fun, because DiCaprio and Lively come from two different worlds. There's the age difference, to begin with: He's 35 and she's 23.
"He feels young with her," Peros said about DiCaprio. "He likes showing her all of Europe. She's not used to all this stuff. He's teaching her about the sport of Formula One racing at the Grand Prix in Monaco. He's showing her a new world."
For Lively, dating DiCaprio may seem like a dream come true. Peros said Lively has had a crush on DiCaprio ever since she was 10 and first saw him in "Titantic."
DiCaprio quickly rose to the A-list, working with Spielberg and Scorcese, while Lively, who got her break in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" films, became the doyenne of television as the star of "Gossip Girls."
Peros said the pair first crossed paths in November at an industry meeting, then shared a kiss at a party in January. But it was Cannes, where they were both attending the film festival, that brought them together in May.
Lively's association with DiCaprio can only be good for her career, Peros said. Lively, who had a breakout role in 2010's "The Town," has been making the move to the big screen. She'll appear in "The Green Lantern" later this month.
"This [romance] is getting her more notice in the Hollywood circle," Peros said.
Already, DiCaprio has taken Lively sailing with Steven Spielberg and his wife, Kate Capshaw, aboard a yacht on the French Riviera.
While pictures from that expedition show them embracing and being affectionate, their dating track records couldn't be more different.
"Leo is notorious for being on the club scene and being swamped with models," Peros said.
In fact, DiCaprio has dated some of the world's top models, including Brazil's Gisele Bundchen, who's now married to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and Israel's Bar Refaeli, with whom he reportedly split only weeks ago.
Lively, on the other hand, hasn't been linked to anyone since ending her three-year relationship with her "Gossip Girl" co-star and former childhood classmate, Penn Badgley, in September 2010.
When rumors of nude photos of Lively surfaced days ago, her spokeswoman shot them down as "100 percent fake."
"Blake has never taken nude photos of herself," her rep told Reuters.
"She's kind of untouched in Hollywood," Peros said. "She hasn't dated anyone since Penn. So Leo gets this, 'I got her first.' She's young, she's hot. She's a fresh face."
Lively gets a multi-millionaire A-list actor whom she's always had a crush on.
Said Peros, "It's every girl's dream."

Oh Leo be carefull, I love your movies," to which Boomer replied by naming previous actors who were womanizers and drunks and whose careers prospered even though this information was common knowledge and then you replied by listing their tragic ends or the problems they experienced in their later years, so I guess I got mixed up and thought that you were implying that Leo may possily be in danger of a similar fate as Brando, Flynn and Burton. Anyhoo let's go back to the beginning comment, "[so] many years of hard work to disassociate himself from the party boy image, from the paps and its all unraveling. Oh Leo be carefull, I love your movies." What danger / vice has come his way recently that you think may possibly jeopardize his career?

@Agee, I was not implying about some vice or addiction (god forbid you know what I mean), I was talking about the gossip/tabloid frenzy beginning again around his personal life, and overshadowing agin his work as a serious actor, which is tremendously impressive. That is all I meant I know that he has spoken extensively about the frenzy that followed Titanic and how he hated being on the cover of tabloids and how it detracted from his career.
This is a guy who was determined not to become gossip fodder, and all I was saying I hope he keeps the monster at bay.

It's not like Gisele and Bar were prostitutes or something.
They were both just as young and just as "innocent" when they dated Leo too.

And is Leo really seen as a partier? He's always been so low-key, so that doesn't fit.
Even if he is a partier, he's handled it well, so it's not like Blake Lively is "taming him" or something.

yeah, i think that one was for Olga K. she mentioned this few months before that in a liveblog, and wording it in a way (oh he's on another set now doing ...blahblahblah) that it implies he does it regularly and how it's supposed to burst in the media in a matter of few weeks then nothing happened. few months after that someone asked her about "how come that story you mentioned months ago didn't go out" in her liveblog and she said something along the line: well that happens when you know the editors and promise instead some deals. then this BI came out that mentions nothing about the editors and it's obv Ben in both cases.
also, recently, in few of Blake's articles she hinted about their possible hookup (the most recent one that i can remember was this one "..Karl is never really smiley to begin with, no. But his expression here, as Blake drapes herself all over him like he’s Ben Affleck, it’s extra, extra crusty, non?").maybe i'm reading it the wrong way or something, but she seems to imply it here and there. dunno.

on the other hand, now that you posted the BI..got me thinking...Blake's also fit for this BI - calling out favours thing? Great Gatsby they've both auditioned for? also, my guess is that this is where she met Leo. the mag cover story might be the one for Olga K. on the other hand...

OK I got it. My guess is that the aspect of the media frenzy that he was most put off by had to do with Titanic making him into a teen and tween heart throb and as such his persona reducing young girls to tears, but that is a non-issue because he has aged out of that, although it is kinda ironic that he has taken up with one of those then tweens. Not that I am expecting him to court the media, and there are two things at play here: media attention and image, but I think that now that he has proven himself as a serious actor, he actually does not need to be as controlling of his image as a guy who likes hot young chicks and likes to have a good time, which he truly is, as long as he does not descend into craziness a la Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise.

But look, I'll say this: Lainey mentioned how into her Ben seemed all the time during the filming of The Town, how flirty he was on that joint interview they did, etc. I'm sure she believes they did it, full disclosure, I don't doubt it either. The Weinstein thing, however, for a bunch of pratical reasons, I don't buy.

Oh, and yeah, Blake and Leo did meet during the Gatsby auditions, there's some Page 6 items on them from back then.

"She's young, she's hot" ... and she's a bit dumb. She's never been well-spoken in interviews and hasn't proven that she has talent as an actress at all. And with all these photos being leaked, it will be interesting to see just how quickly they break up. If they stay together, it means that:
1. Leo is gay or bi and she is just a beard, or...
2. Leo really is shallow and is dating her because she's his exact type (minus the exotic-ness of being foreign) so he is using her for sex or...
3. They really are in love and he wants the entire world to know all of a sudden. oh, i got that sex sentence as in not only on set (over and over again, btw part), doesn't matter (the BI thing - i was just guessing "what if").
the Weinstein thing hit the nail on the head for me (not regarding Blake but Harvey himself) when he threaten to sue Lainey if she mentions it one more time, she said herself she's not allowed to talk about it due to a possible lawsuit coming her away if she does and considering that, up until yesterday's article on Blake, she indeed kept her talk about HW on minimum.
