Target's Botkier Boost

Fifth accessory collection to launch July 21
Monday, March 17, 2008
(NEW YORK) On the heels of its announcement of a Richard Chai collaboration, Target is partnering with accessories designer Monica Botkier to launch a limited-edition handbag collection entitled Botkier for Target. This is the fifth handbag collection for the Minneapolis-based retailer, having also worked with Rafé, Devi Kroell, Loeffler Randall, and Gryson. A favorite among celebs like Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, Heidi Klum, and Alicia Keys, the pieces will be available from July 21 to September 14 at stores and on target.com.

I was just going to post this from WWD.

I'm very excited! Hopefully the quality won't be too compromised.

No, No, No....... Not another for target design.I know that they have been succesful, but honestly this turns me off to the company that goes low end. Nothing wrong with lower end items (I buy'em too) but if I'm dashing out $600 and my label says "Botkier" it's a total waste of money!!!!! They will make money on one end but loose some on the other.

Is this one of the bags from their Target collection?

^where did you find that? :woot:

im actually kind if excited. i love target...even though the designer collaborations are becoming kind of old news

^ I Googled Botkier for Target, and that's what came up under a few blogs... Hopefully they use much better materials than they have for the past few... I do like the color though! <3 And if that is one for Target, I can't wait to see the rest :p

^^^^
That's from Botkier's spring collection, not the upcoming Target one. I love Botkier's bags and I love Target but I don't know...I haven't been too thrilled with any of the designer collaborations they've had (each time they put out a new one I still run and check it out though!) I was so excited for the Devi Kroell collection and blah, I didn't care for any of it.

... since botkier re-issued their trigger bag... I guess I can't expect to see any trigger-esque bags at target in July.

Ah, poop. Back to ebay! ;)

Thanks for posting the pics! I think that this line will be popular. I like almost all of them. Especially the first silver one that you posted. I wonder how big that one is.

i just cannot deal with plastic bags and shoes...
no matter what designer name they stick on it...
it's still plastic...

:yuk:

Pretty bad...
$$$ Botkier isn't all that nice either...

The accessory partnerships always tank, imo...
The abandon of quality is inevitable..
No matter how nice the design is, it will still look cheap...
and shiny enough to blind someone...

I am hoping the Sigerson & Morrison collab will excel...
maybe they'll be able to work around quality constraints...

Oh, I hope that it doesn't look like plastic. I don't like those shiny kind of bags. I guess I will have to wait to see it in the stores.
