Loeffler Randall tapped to create accessories line
Tuesday, August 21, 2007
(NEW YORK) Target is right on the bull's-eye for its next designer collaboration, tapping Loeffler Randall designer Jessie Randall to create an accessories line for the retailer, which will debut in early 2008. The collection is being previewed to long-lead press Wednesday at the Target Studio on Seventh Avenue. Randall follows in the footsteps of Rafé New York, Devi Kroell, and most recently, Hollywould and Dominique Cohen, all of whom have designed more wallet-friendly product for the mass-with-class retail giant. Randall was recently inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America and in June won the organization's coveted Swarovski Award for Accessory Design. The designer also gave birth to twin boys Casper and Liam on June 19, two weeks after the awards gala. "It's been the best year of my life so far, from winning the CFDA Award to this," she gushed at the CFDA new members party held at Diane von Furstenberg's studio last month. "June was a huge month for me, in every sense of the word." Looks like it's about to get even sweeter.

the whole point is to create LOW PRICED items designed by high end designers for the LOW end market. do you really think the vast majority of people shopping at target would go for a simple solid colored shift dress in silk or black sleek bag in leather? you go to boutiques and higher end stores for that. there's a place for everything and these collaborations have hit the right spot.
