bravo new reality series - launch my line

Ahhh! Is your head spinning yet? It looks like Bravo is ready to compete with the comeback of Project Runway later this summer. The former home of PR has announced their new reality series, Launch My Line. The show will be hosted by Dsquared2 brothers, Dean and Dan Caten.

The premise of the show is we have 10 already-successful designers competing. They will each be taken under the wing of 10 well-established fashion designers (no names have been dropped yet) and will compete for their own clothing line to be launched while the established designer wins $50,000. I am so excited about this one. We will finally leave the every-designer-crammed-in-the-workroom format and get out into the real world of designing.

What's with the insurgence of so many fashion shows from Bravo? Sure, competing with Lifetime who will definitely steal the audiences with Project Runway. I guess this might that The Fashion Show is dead

Isn't it hard enough launching a line without it turning into infotainment for the masses?
What is the appeal? The 9 other designers will no doubt be humiliated and thus extinguish their chances of their ventures getting off the ground after spending hundreds of thousands of their money to get at that point.
I suppose they deserve it if they feel the need to go on the show but it all reeks of yesteryear's bitchy bling and pompous gladiator-like display. It does nothing positive for the industry (except perhaps the twins themselves).

I'll check out the first episode, here's to hoping it'll be better than The Fashion Show.

I'll be watching this.

But I hope it doesn't mean the end of The Fashion World. They just gotta get rid of Kelly Rowland. I like her, but she's so out of place there that it makes me angry. Other than that, I like that show.
