I like it. Very sporty, modern, and of course beautiful. I think what is really shocking is the cut. The oversize pieces might be a reason, for some, to stay away.

Revisiting this masterpiece.
At first i hated this collection, then became quite fond of that few months later and now this is maybe my favorite collection from Phoebe at Celine.

It was so drastic, shocking and weird but it had a real intention of pushing fashion forward.
While her first few collections were very direct and influenced a real change in style for everybody, this really made people think outside of the box. What is really interesting is that people are crediting Michele and Demna for this new maximalist and streetwear aesthetic, she was actually the first one to brought it back.

Her first few collections while being so chic and timeless are also representative of a "certain era". This one is actually a little bit more difficult to date. It could sit well today and still be better than most of the things presented. Actually, it influenced a lot.

This is a bit like Tom Ford's Gucci spring summer 2001 or Galliano's Matrix collection (two of my all time favorites collections it wasn't so well received when it was presented but it was such a turning point in her aesthetic, career but also it created a lot of babies.

Now, Celine is a little bit more abstract, more cerebral but this had such a real playfulness that i miss today.
This woman is really talented.
