Royal snub for the Obamas: No wedding invite from Prince William and Kate Middleton

Royal sources have revealed that Barack and Michelle Obama will not be invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.

According to the Daily Mail, the royal couple do not feel under pressure to fill the guest list foreign heads of state as the event will not be a state wedding.

Some foreign leaders are expected to be invited, however – among them possibly French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni Sarkozy.

Kate and William are understood to want to make their celebration very much a "people's wedding".

They are apparently intending to reserve some of the 2,000 seats for charity volunteers, children and the homeless.
