Lipstick Jungle

I am so bummed, just read that there won't be a third season.......

The clothing, the characters, the 3 main characters, I'm going to miss it all.... and Kirby... :(

Why? Why? Why??? :doh::angry:

There's talk that the "news" that the show was cancelled was leaked out there to get a reaction and hopefully increase the viewership this week. But we are supposed to find out Monday or Tuesday if the show is going on or not, because that's when NBC will announce their decision on the show. So I'd advise all of you out there to watch it live (if you have a Neilson box) and/or Tivo it! NBC only cares about numbers so if it does really well this week, perhaps it'll get picked up for a 3rd season!

Regardless if it's cancelled or not, all 13 episodes from this season will air so don't worry. :flower:

NBC will have to pay a lot of money back to the sponsors (Maybelline, for one) of the show if they don't air all the episodes. They would be missing out on millions of dollars by not airing those episodes. So even though nothing is final right now, it doesn't seem like that's a possibility unless NBC wants to give back millions of dollars. Plus since DVD sales for season 1 were pretty good, they'd be missing out on money from DVD sales of season 2's DVD if they don't air all of it.

The show is officially cancelled. I'm sad because it was a really good show that unfortunately never got to reach its potential because of terrible marketing/basically no advertising except for in magazines. Also, it was a great group of people to work with and I'm sad to say goodbye!

NBC should make the official statement next week.

I don't understand why?

I found it not only interesting, but entertaining. I enjoy the 3 main leads; great actresses all (including their husbands/beaus) I'm just so sad it has to end. :o

Here's hoping they finish out the season and leave us with a DVD for the second season that is filled to the gills with extras, at least they owe us that. :(

Such a shame, the clothes were gorgeous!! And the accessories too! I'm going to miss it for sure.

At least we have 5 episodes left...

Two thirds of the ladies of Lipstick Jungle, Brooke Shields and Kim Raver, brought their kids to the Cookie magazine Kidsfest bash in NYC on Sunday. Kim posed on the pink carpet with husband Manu Boyer and their two boys, Leo and Luke, while Brooke Shields kept an eye on her youngest daughter Grier and denied reports of their reportedly canceled show. Of the rumors, she said, "It's not true. . . They're not breaking down the sets. We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it's erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God." Hopefully Brooke is right, since we have grown to love the show this season after another good episode — not to mention continuing to check out their great style and fabulous set decorations.

I think Brooke is in denial, it was the writer's strike...it messed with a lot of show's momentum. Just look at Pushing Daises, another one getting axed.

I read to day at fashionista that they are planning on finishing out the book for the show...so that gives me hope!! if you want to read what they had to say, click on the link:

I think they are doing that so that fans will tune next time. They are trying to save it.
Let's hope they will!

OH NO!!!! i can't believe it's cancelled!! is there anyway of saving it? this is really my favourite show right now, i love the characters and the plot lines, sometimes it can be a bit predictable but the actors are so great it's the best show out there.
Please save it!!! cut out all that random reality tv crap!!

it genuinely upsets me that networks these days don't care about quality..it's all about the numbers:( I understand it is a business..but what happened to real television.
This reminds me of the fictitious show in 30 Rock,MILF Island..haha I think that's really where we're headed..all reality TV :/
If 30 Rock goes, I refuse to watch NBC ever again!!

A lot has happened in the last 2 weeks! Guys, the show is NOT cancelled! :woot: We got word to just save everything and chances are, it'll go on for a 3rd season which will start shooting in February or March. NBC apparently told the writers to get started writing another season!

NBC is still iffy on the show because they feel like it isn't popular enough. But it's a great sign that they told us to save all the sets, set dressing, etc. And the actors/actresses have all been signed onto another season!
