^^CHerryblossoms, you might watch another episode and then make up your mind, the first episode of ANY tv show is always a bit lame. I suggest you settle back with some pop corn and watch the first four episodes in a row, you'll be hooked after the second.. I was !
it's a great show, the characters have so much depth, and it's slolwly developed , not super takcky over the top, dead one minute alive the next or anything over the top like a soapie , 902120 or gossip girl (although i do love gossip girl!).. it's a bit more adult, but very smart and very witty.

Every TV-show I love I started to really like from the first episode - Gossip Girl, Skins, Friends, SATC. That is why I made such a conclusion after seeing the first episode. I think it's so pretential and "SATC-wannabe", no offense please!

This is a thread of LJ fans and we're pretty loyal to our show! That said, it doesn't mean everyone has to like it.

I was worried it was going to be a SATC wannabe as well but it's not at all, it's very different.
I read an interview with C Bushell who wrote this and SATC and she said LJ is more about women, who are already married and have powerful careers and have time to spend with their girlfriends and come accross other issues in life, with marriages, kids and their careers- totally different from SATC which was about dating, sex, and getting through the job.. etc. This is meant to be like an older version of SATC.
The women are meant to be some of the most powerful in NYC , read the book for some background, it's very interesting, it's a whole new angle.

I think Cashmere Mafia was trying to be SATC and lipstick jungle and it was too pretentious, that's why it got canned.

OMG people I feel soooo embarassed right now! I confused Lipstick Jungle with Cashmere Mafia!!!!!!!!!
After nicky25 mentioned Cashmere Mafia in her post it bummed me that I confused those 2 tv-shows! I've read the book - Lipstick Jungle by Candace Bushnell and liked it but I've never saw the show

But you must agree with me that Cashmere mafia is a total sh*t

I must see the LJ tv-show now!

yes i agree that cashmere mafia was total sh** it was a shame as the actresses and the clothes were great, but the plots were crap.

i just started watching it and i have to say its really good!!!! the script, fashion and casting are point on...very different from many tv shows where you know whats going to happen.

I actually thought this was going to be a horrible Sex and the City wannabe, but it's probably one of my favorite shows! I love Victory, she's so stunning. My friend diagrees "too made up". The styling's great too

so when I was watching last night and they showed previews for next week, it just said "season finale" not "series"...so is it going to turn into like a summer show or something? I know we discussed this earlier, but there were so many mixed answers that I don't know

^ It's not known for sure. I work on the show and I have been told that we'll find out this month if it'll go on for another season, and if so then it will start filming mid-February so it wouldn't be on until the Fall.

Believe me, I'll post here as soon as I know for sure what's going on with the show.

oh gosh, I have last nights episode tivoed and I'm just dyyying to watch it but I promised my mom I would wait and watch it with her, lol. I pray they don't cancel it! I feel like it's getting better and better and it would be such a shame if they cut it now.

Last weeks episode was the season finale, but I don't know if it'll be back. It looked like they were wrapping things up so that if it doesn't continue then it wouldn't be left on the edge, unfinished. I hope it comes back though!

I'm kinda sad if the show is cancelled. It was by far one of the best shows out there, but I did enjoy Nico/Kirby, Victory/Joe and the fashion was pretty killer. With Cashmere Mafia gone and now LJ, there isn't a Girl-power show left anymore. Me sad.
