Catwalk Trends F/W 06.07

The bubble shape and layering trends are my favorites. As for metallics, I don't love them for fall, but I do really like the way metallics were used in the Resort 2007 collections.

i cannot belileve how many people are saying YES to NAPOLEONIC...

* i would say that it looks to costume-y for off the runway....
i can't imagine seeing people in a long coat or high boots with tons of buttons...

but maybe it's because it works with jeans and everyone wants to still wear their jeans?......
is that it guys.?...

the bubble - indifferent
fur - nay
metallics - yay but in extremely small doses like that adorable catherine malandrino jacket and that ann dem fw 06.07 double-breasted trench.
oversize - yay if you can pull it off
layering - yay, it's pretty much universal by now.. better when done in unexpected ways though
napoleonic - nay, with softgrey on this one - strickly rtw, but quieter pieces may work with the right styling

I said yes to napoleonic, but I said yes to bubbles and layering too. I don´t think long coats and high boots with buttons are much crazier then puffy everything, or wearing two outfits at a time.

Bubbles - Yes!! ...dresses are easier to wear than skirts
Fur - it's just soo much warmer than everything else...buy good vintage
Metallics - tempered with layers
Oversize - yes...big on top with skinny bottoms, you'll never turn back!
Layers - Yes...of course, in varying lengths
Napoleonic - small accents with jeans or big statements for evening with modern accessories

I don't think napoleonic is difficult, it's just over. I'm sick of nautical/military/victorian and this basically combines all of them.

Also bubbles? No thanks. It's tired. Oversized, layering, metallics all sound good to me but they've been around awhile. Why does style.com never come up with anything new?!

I'm LOVING the yellow dresses!!!!!! oh and I've noticed the comeback of the cloak, too. fall/winter has always summoned trenchcoats. There was the parka, and now comes the cloak. I L-O-V-E..tweed has always been f/w classic. and im lobing the tartans and plaid prints. Not the animal prints tho...never been a big fan of them, coloured or otherwise.
