Catwalk Trends F/W 06.07

^ agree.. tweed is very overdone....

Other runway trends I noted:
  • Geek eye wear
  • Sheer tights in vibrant colors (purple....)
  • Yellow detailing on black
  • Simple jewelry (ex.: black string only, no pendant to make necklace)
  • Suspenders
  • Over the knee socks
  • White socks showing off
  • Fabric with pleats
  • Tartan
  • Animal print (especially LEOPARD print)
  • The bubble silhouette is replaced with a toned down version of it : loose silhouettes for dresses and tops
  • Menswear inspired suits
  • Ankle boots
  • Bold lips but minimal makeup on the rest of the face
  • Straight straight and silky hair
  • Handbags with gold chain strap
  • White tights (sheer or not)
  • Round toe pumps/flats
  • Wool
  • "Arm warmers" (the new legwarmer....!)
  • Cropped leather gloves
  • Headbands
  • Bows
  • Loose white dress shirt
  • Opaque black tights seem to be the must have....
  • Beanie wool hats
  • Honey hair color
  • Belts worn high on the waist
  • Slightly slouchy leggings replacing opaque tights?
  • Layering/mixing fabrics (ex.: wool+leather+tartan...)
  • Visible chunky/slouchy socks
  • Roomy bags
  • Loose cardigans
  • Shades of brown and cream (chocolate, marron....)
  • Pleated lame fabrics
  • Slouchy pants
  • "Chunky" boots
  • Accessories in rich (non black) colors to mix with an all black outfits (ex.: white pumps, deep brown gloves, deep turquoise gloves, purple tights....)

fake whites, light beige and vanillas seem huge (TSE) its the predicted 'ice/stepa' trend and i totally love

^ totally.. long gloves too, very hot..

i also see
*navy
*continuation of shine
*black beads
*slim skirts

personaly, dont like the stella mc. gold chain thing. might just be me but it seems a strange thing to start. quite like the yellow dresses tho?!

i see alot of high flip collars =T
im not so good at spotting trends..and whatever was said on the first page is pretty much what i thought of too XD and some new ones i havent seen yet

  • Chunky black leather boots with lots of visible eyelets
  • Round toe Mary Jane pumps
  • Chunky scarves
  • Loose clothes
  • Showing off your socks

I also see a lot of blue and black together. It looks surprisingly good!

p.s. I'm glad that the ankle booties will be in again next fall ... I can't get enough of mine right now ......

yes ....! and it's nice when mixed with fall's staple color palette (navy, chocolate brown, black...)..... a nice color def..!

a few other things i noticed:

  • grunge meets boho
  • fingerless gloves
  • crochet/knit hats
  • oversized slouchy bags
  • "different" layering techniques : dress over a sweater or a long sleeve tshirt, skirt with short leggings over tights with legwarmers above it all, skirt worn over pants, wool sweater with dress over it worn with long gloves on top of the wool sweater.......

kimkhuu, i much agree on
knit hats (as first taught by Burberry in ss06)
round toe maryjanes
gloves

chanel-isms seem also quite popular...

As Kimkhuu pointed out earlier, there are an astonishing number of eyeglasses on the runways ... and the shape seems to be moving much bigger to 70s aviator, following the lead of shades ...

Innovative plays on volume continue ... metallics continue ...

And I also think there's a graphical, colorless "Mondrian" kind of thing going on, most obviously Narciso, but I've seen it from other designers as well. Perhaps this is a continuation of the art-inspired trend we saw a bit of last season? I don't think I've seen anything about what Narciso has said his inspirations were ... have you guys?

T-straps seem to be snowballing ... which I think is great, love 'em.

I'm loving the opaque thights (well, they have been here for a long time, but not as huge as now in the runway) and all the layering with dresses.

- Blue; purple
- I also think that the ladylike look is still around, but a more toned down way. Like, the "ladylike" looks like it caters to people in their twenties (i.e. Marc Jacobs, Adam+Eve).

I'm noticing lots of-

Opaque tights with patent leather shoes
Socks
Ankle boots
Stripes
Tulip skirts with side pockets
Belts worn on the waist
Billowy knits
A-line coats
Beanie knitted hats

Colours- Black, grey, brown.

And I love them all!
