melt, yes, its called leotard, what we wear for ballet.. thanks

the Peter Pan collar is real HUGE and yes, its a bit  too :D

I just saw a lotta color vampires around... suck suck suck the color out of collections. The nude from this year was fine, but seeing people going overboard with all that beige and muted pastells, it's getting boring.

^ in my book, it can be interesting mixing washed out pastels together and then bring a tiny highlight with a very strong colour

citytolove would you like to bring out your peter-pan-collars as a free standing trend topic?
let me know if you need any help :flower:

trends i dont mind from the shows:

- black and white and cream, i'm really getting into solids and neutrals again after wearing tons of color and prints last summer and winter, it can be fresh if you have white or cream as the focal point with black accessories
- patent leather, continued from fall, i still love it and a good way to perk up those black accesories
- metallic, not new but i think its going less disco/boho and softer
- minimalism, i'm becoming subtly more minimalist myself so it was interesting, but i guess i like more play on texture and less focus on geometry and volume, but i cant wait to see how this trend develops in upcoming seasons
- grecian, pretty classic and not such a prominent trend now but still lovin it
- 60s/20s, two of my most influential decades in style, seen it done better but happy its so influential
- skinny belts, my favorite kind
- skinny jeans, will always love them
- mini, i dont like micro but a good short but not too short or too tight is comfy and cute
- girly details, love it and perfect to offset really simple pieces, i like simple but simple doesnt have to mean androgynous, and girly doesnt have to mean lolita
- babydolls, again not new but flirty and flattering

Sure! I'll start the thread with pictures from my previous post and 2 more from another show (to stick to the 5 shows rule). If you want, you can add more examples that I've missed. ^_^

I LOVE peter pan collars.:ninja: The Miu Miu ones were actually really subtle and lovely.

I've been a bit absent from the coverage in Bryant Park due to the Project Runway Season 3 airing of the episodes, though I'm glad to be here and up to date once more on the new trends everyone has already discovered, it's second Christmas for me!

Yes, it's a body stocking; my friend Jennifer designed them for Leg Avenue for three years, though now she's persuing freelance...

We met through MySpace by happenstance, I convinced her through a one page letter to become friends since she only communicates with co-workers and childhood friends, I later discovered I had been a customer of her designs and we became good friends through the summer!

I judged for a Women's Wear Daily highlighted competition for 2006 and she won one of the events for Concepts and Sketches, as mentioned in WWD earlier this autumn...

It's a small world, and yes it's a bodystocking or body net...

It's also a common element when wearing corsetry to prevent contact in certain areas and for the look and feel as well...

I'm doing some pieces in denim as a professional venture and the catalog of body stockings is one common item on my book shelf in the studio, wholesale for personal use allows me to have additional around for a decent price and it's interesting to know it's now a trend since it's common for me to recommend as standard faire...

I've been noticing a lot of floral prints around... not sure if it qualifies as a trend though I've seen it in much more than 5 shows.

Would one consider floral prints/the use of flowers to just be typical s/s or does it deserve a thread of its own?

flowers were eveywhere and not only on dress etc. we saw them at YSL onto the catwalk, at dries van noten on the tall wall etc.
so flowers will be really "in".

anyway, i'm not really into floral prints but those cacharel (of course, it's cacharel) and moschino prints look awesome.
I like the John Galliano flower print, too. but maybe because it looks very XVIIth-soft-baroque-interior-design "ornements".
and OF COURSE the Alexander McQueen. love it but it's genius...so no need to mention it!

main colors for ss07: deep blue, nude, black, white, coral, cherry red, bronze/gold, medium blue, yellow, purple, different tones of grey and silver.

IKB is a big colour for this summer! (get out with a great deo stick otherwise it'll turn into a dark blue! lol)

winter for summer
my first feeling, too, about this season-to-come. and I'm sad!

Futuristic
Everyone seems to be doing it or incorporating armour stuff. Fendi, Versace, Balmain, etc.
and I have a question, too : what about this futuristic-robotic trend? i mean, how can people interpret this on streets??? because there's def. no link with the 60s futuristic vision (like courreges or even rabanne).
do you really think this trend will work?! do you really think people will wear the robotic balenciaga trousers? i would love to see those pants worn but honestly nobody except models can wear those!

but what i hope for women this summer is BACK ON DRESS GIRLS! please! (off topic but i'm so bored of the skinny jeans!)

^ dresses are supossed to be huge, continuing from last summer and fw 06.07
discussing at "the fashion group" the president of French Fashion Syndicate also stated they will be on focus for the fw07.08 collections

as for the 'futuristic' trend, i seriously dont know how it will translate down the street, its not my fave ss07 trend so i totally pray it flops

^Me too
I think that the "futuristic" trend will just come in form of loads and loads of silver, metall-like clothing or silver lame.

robot legs are cooL! :woot: I would wear them

(for halloween)
