That time of the year again. This thread is for sharing and discussing the appearance of trends in collections for the next summer. Please try not to post more than 8 pictures per post for easy navigation, and also remember not to start a thread unless you've spotted the trends in at least 5 different shows. :flower:

To kick this off, I think pieces with asymmetrical, almost liquid-like cuts will continue to mark its presence for next summer, so far NYC's taken note.

I have seen a grunge/90s trend.
I hate it. :ninja:

I'm kind of hoping the nineties-ish look stays within the boundaries of New York... hopefully not seeping into Calvin Klein.......... nineties seems to lose any ounce of glamour that the eighties had.

orange :( i hate orange

Seeing lots of pops of color show up in collections. A collection will be monotonous withinn a few shades of each other but all of a sudden BAM! an orange or yellow piece, a royal blue piece, a pink one too ... I love all the oranges this season and how they unexpectedly show up.

^ I love all the oranges too :D and everything with a lot of bright colour

Here are some of the bright colourful ones (most of the designers had colourful stuff)

is "frill" the right word for this? when i think of something frilly it makes me think of tulle and ruffles...

this looks more like feathers to me...

i agree..
i saw some feathers skirts at zara...but isn't it strange to walk down the street with a skirt like this?

can dresses be a trend? I feel like i've seen dresses everywhere so far during fashion..more than usual.

Structured shoulders seems to be a continuing trend for Spring-Summer 2010.

Also, just structured clothing in general was a big theme at LDN Fashion Week today.

The New Body Con Dress

We know, it's sort of tribal, sort of sari, but really all the body-conscious draping and ruching makes us think this is really the more evolved body-con dress. However you slice it, the workmanship is all that.

Aqua Blue

After a few seasons of cobalt, this deep-blue aqua makes us wish we were on Clooney's yacht cruising the Mediterranean. Wearing Thakoon, of course.

Black & Tan

Perhaps the epitome of bold contrasts, the reappearance of black with beige and neutrals made us sit up and take note: This is a strong look for a strong lady. We like.

Persimmon

Richer than your typical orange, this juicy shade really popped among all the grays and blacks or more predictable pastels.

The Year-Round Leather Jacket

We love the fact that fashion is really loosening up, undoing that top button and even wearing white after Labor Day. The fact that some designers used leather and suede, particularly with little jackets, made us excited that these weren't pieces made just for one season.

The Ultra-Glamorous Understated Gown

The whole less is more thing really resonates with the season's choice picks of long, free-flowing gowns in a subdued palette of beige, gray, and delicate patterns. Uncomplicated, the pure elegance is all you see.

The Long Lean Short

Maybe they're clam diggers, maybe they're a modified bike short...However you package all the long lean shorts we spotted, one thing is certain: They're sporty-chic and a great switch from skirts.

Mesh

Just the texture of mesh makes it not only a great layering tool, but also a practical option for warmer weather. We loved how RVCA and Rag & Bone used it as a way to bring a little depth and edginess to an otherwise simple look.

Tap Pants

Even if you have legs like Giselle, all those minis from last season are getting so tired. That's why we are totally into this fresh batch of lingerie-inspired tap pants.

Blazers appeared in a lot of the shows, and also onesies/playsuits/jumpsuits/ whatever you want to call them.

And also, dresses cinched with belts at the waist:
