mellow yellow, pumpkin orange, and steel blue, so far the main colors in New York
a lot of beaded and metallic collage things
brocade print is also quite popular
What about white galore? That's what I saw the earlier days of NY fashion week. A sea full of white clothes, which to be honest I'm dreading to see pop up more in future collections.
^ White is not a trend, it's a 'classic' for ss collections
anyway, mrs La Ferla from NYT sees 'A Touch of Fetish' #NYFW shows
taking lead from Alexander Wang, BCBG, Altuzara, Marc Jacobs & Rodarte
not sure if i agree with here
here is the article
Yes, white is an obvious SS staple, but it does indeed become a trend when it dominates entire collections or if it becomes a repeating statement like we've seen this week.
^ exactly, CD!, that's why I'm always hesitant about whatever's seen in New York.. cause they're usually recycled ideas from the current season and the rest of the capitals are onto something else (big trends start getting defined with Milan).
Especially trends like white, transparency, lady-like, florals.. NY designers revisit them every.single.season.
I'm imagining very graphic editorials, about print and cut, the patterns of Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, mixed with the volumes and graphic cuts of the likes of Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Burberry, etc.
I feel like we saw a lot of crop tops. Balenciaga, John Galliano, I'm fairly certain there were a few in London and New York that I can't think of right now.
^The first one looks kind of good, more body-like, but the two looks after are really strange. I don't see what is chic about wearing a one-piece bathing suit under your clothes. And I don't think it is comfortable either..
